Gothenburg, Sweden, 23 August 2001 - A few practitioners began a walk in the busiest part of the city in the evening to inform the people about the hunger strike in Masanjia Labour Camp. We did this because we knew there were still people who were not aware of the crimes committed as a result of Jiang Zemin's orders at the Masanjia labor camp and the truth about the persecution of our fellow practitioners in China. We carried a signboard, played Falun Dafa music, handed out SOS flyers and gathered signatures for a petition letter to the Governments in the EU. Many people took a flyer, and those who did not take one this time, could at least read the signboard that was clearly visible. The messages were: "Rescue the Falun Gong Practitioners in China", and "130 Falun Gong practitioners risk their lives on hunger strike in China".

We started at 5.30 pm and finished at 10.00 pm. Quite a few people asked questions and others stopped to sign our petition. For instance, on one main street, there were several outdoor restaurants where people who were having their dinner took time to read and reflect over our messages. Many eagerly approached us to ask what Falun Gong really was, what was going on in China and why the Chinese Government was so brutally persecuting a peaceful meditation practice.

This experience was very positive. It was a good way to tell people the truth and ask for help.
