Falun Dafa Practitioners in Ireland Initiate a Walk/Bike across Ireland Entitled "SOS! Urgent Rescue Zhao Ming"

In order to support the global "SOS! Urgent Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners in China" action, Falun Dafa practitioners in Ireland initiated "SOS! Urgent Rescue Zhao Ming, Walk/Bike across Ireland."

Two of the Falun Dafa practitioners started from Dublin. They plan to walk 160 miles in a week, passing by Irish counties, cities and townships such as Kildare, Kilkenny, Waterford, etc. Another two practitioners will go on a bike tour, which will last for two weeks and will pass by Galway as well as other areas. This action will cover all major cities and townships in Southern Ireland. They will visit all the local officials, accept media interviews and donate Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials to libraries. They will also stop at each town to do the Falun Dafa exercises, and share the teachings of Falun Dafa.

Every one of the four participants is carrying a very heavy load of materials.

On the morning of August 13, right before they left, Falun Dafa practitioners in Ireland submitted a letter to the Prime Minister at the City Government Building. It urged Prime Minister Ahern to ask Chinese Premier Zhu Yongji about the whereabouts of Trinity (a college in Dublin) graduate student Zhao Ming (who was sent to a labor camp) and it urged him to ask for Zhao Ming's release during Zhu's visit in Ireland next month. One practitioner read the letter, and was interviewed by the media. A journalist from the biggest newspaper in Ireland, The Ireland Times, took many pictures. There was an article in the next day's newspaper as well as a huge photo. Those practitioners, who could not join the action this time, walked with their fellow practitioners to the border of the city.

The walkers called us during their journey, saying that they received a lot of support from ordinary citizens, media, and officials. Their bravery and courage in conquering tribulations moved the people of Ireland. The pure and kind nature of the Irish people also moved practitioners.
