Ms. Fang Yunbao, age 63, was a teacher at Wuhan College of Finance and Economics. After retirement, she went to Beijing to help her daughter take care of her children. On November 2nd, 2012, police broke into her home and arrested her. The police also confiscated a laptop, Falun Gong items and other personal belongings. Ms. Fang's husband, Mr. He, is vice president of the China Construction Bank in Huangguang.

Ms. Fang's two-year-old grandchild cried for her grandma and grandpa every day. Her son and daughter went to the Haidian Detention Centre to request her release, but their request was rejected.

Fang Yunbao retired from Wuhan College of Finance and Economics. She started practising Falun Gong in 1995 and benefited from the practice both mentally and physically. All of her diseases disappeared. She worked diligently and was kind to others, so many students and teachers liked her. In 2000, the Wuhan police did a three-day investigation of her and the result was that “Fang Yunbao has an excellent reputation.”

On January 10th, 2001, Yang Suwei, a police officer from Luojiashan Police Department in Wuhan put Fang Yunbao in the notorious Hewan Labour Camp in Wuhan. Ms. Fang was kept there for one and a half years. In November 2002, Yang Suwei again sent Fang Yunbao to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Centre, which the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claimed was a “Law Education Class.” In a few days, Fang Yunbao was severely persecuted there, which caused her to develop hemianesthesia. On September 27th, 2007, Yang Chongcai, the secretary of the Communist Party at the Wuhan College of Finance and Economics, lured Fang Yunbao to his office and allowed the police from Luojiashan Police Station to arrest her again and take her to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Centre. Also, the police detained her husband at his office, and then raided her home and confiscated all of her personal belongings.

Fang Yunbao and her husband, He Chengyong, had come to Beijing to take care of their two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter. Due to practising Falun Gong, the aged grandparents were sound in body and mind and the whole family lived a very happy life.

On November 2nd, 2012, Ms. Fang's husband went out with his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. However, when they returned, they found Fang Yunbao was not at home and the place was a mess. At such a dreadful sight, Mr. He immediately fainted and fell unconscious. He was then immediately taken to the emergency department.

Later, Ms. Fang's family finally learned what happened after inquiring through many channels: At around 8:30 p.m., Zhang Wupeng, Zhao Sicheng and other police officers from Xisanqi Police Station in Beijing checked on the household occupants. They found Falun Gong books at the home and then immediately searched the house. Later, the head of the Xisanqi Police Station also broke into Ms. Fang's house and arrested Ms. Fang and took her to Haidian Detention Centre in Beijing. The police confiscated all the Falun Gong materials and laptops, including the workstations belonging to Fang's children, printers and so on.

Now Fang Yunbao is detained in the Haidian Detention Centre. Her husband is still in a coma, diagnosed with a brain haemorrhage. The hospital sent a notice of critical condition to his family twice, meaning he could pass away at any time.
