Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Lirong, a former electrical engineer from the Qianfeng Electronics Corporation Ltd., was persecuted in the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre. The first day she was admitted, a staff member kicked her in the head with his shoes on, causing her to lose consciousness and vomit blood. After she was held there for more than 20 days, on November 21st, 2012, Ms. Guo was released. She was physically and mentally devastated. She was dragged out of the car and left alone on the road outside of her residential community.

Due to the severe abuse, Ms. Guo could not stand up, so she had to sit in the road. She rolled up her trouser legs to show passersby the injuries sustained at the brainwashing centre. A kind-hearted person found the hotline of a local newspaper and offered his mobilephone for Ms. Guo to call and expose the local police officers' wrong deeds. But no one from the newspaper came after they heard that Ms. Guo wanted to expose the arrest and illegal detention of a law abiding citizen by Fuqing Road Neighbourhood officials, local police and the Chengdu City Law Education Centre. The pictures below were taken by a kind-hearted person for Ms. Guo.

“Having a Talk” Ends up with Ms. Guo Being Taken to a Brainwashing Centre

As soon as Ms. Guo Lirong left home around 2:00 p.m. on October 30th, 2012, a group of people led by Xie Weijiang, an auxiliary police officer from Fuqing Road Neighbourhood Office who had waited outside her home, immediately stopped her, saying that their director, Wang, from the Fuqing Road Judicial Office would come right away to “talk” to Ms. Guo. Ms. Guo then invited them to her home.

Several minutes later, Wang and several others came to Ms. Guo's home and Wang told her that the 18th Party Congress would be held soon, and neighbourhood officials had asked him to “talk” to her. He also asked Ms. Guo to go to the police station because officials there also wanted to talk to her. Ms. Guo refused to go, and said that it was unreasonable to target her for the purpose of maintaining stability for the Party Congress. These perpetrators then carried Ms. Guo into a car, and took her to the Fuqing Road Police Station.

While at the police station, Fuqing Road Neighbourhood Office head Chen asked Ms. Guo to get in a car to go to “study” (actually this means illegal detention and undergoing forcible brainwashing). Ms. Guo demanded he present legal documents and refused to get in the car.

After being locked in stalemate for quite some time, the officers forcibly carried Ms. Guo into a police car. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yin Sirong was already in the car. They took the two practitioners to the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre.

Being Ruthlessly Kicked in the Head, Ms. Guo Loses Consciousness and Vomits Blood

Upon arriving at the brainwashing centre, Ms. Guo refused to get out of the car, and demanded they show her legal documents. Four auxiliary police officers dragged Ms. Guo out of the car and carried her with each holding one of Ms. Guo's legs and arms, walking toward the brainwashing centre.

At that moment, brainwashing centre staff member Huang Zhongzhi slandered Falun Gong founder Teacher Li Hongzhi. Ms. Guo asked him to stop. Huang was furious and ran to kick Ms. Guo hard with his shoes. Enraged, he still didn't feel it was enough, so he ruthlessly kicked Ms. Guo in the head. Because Ms. Guo was being carried by police officers facing upwards, this kick caused the back of her head to hit the ground really hard, and she immediately lost consciousness. Her face and lower lip swelled, and she vomited blood. They carried her to a room on the second floor, threw her onto a bed and left.

Force-Fed Unknown Substances

Ms. Guo Lirong started a hunger strike to protest this detention. Four people force-fed her a raw egg twice, and also laced her food with unknown substances which made Ms. Guo drowsy and her mind go numb daily.

After Ms. Guo was held in the brainwashing centre, personnel from the Fuqing Road Neighbourhood Office, Police Station and Xinjin Brainwashing Centre did not inform her family of her whereabouts. Not until noontime the next day, did Ms. Guo's family receive a phone call from the security office of Qianfeng Corporation Ltd., telling them that local police had sent Ms. Guo to “study,” and she would return home in mid November. Later, Ms. Guo's 85-year-old father went to the police station to find officer Li Xia to inquire about his daughter's whereabouts. He then learned that she was in the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre.

Left on the Roadside

In mid November, at the end of the 18th Party Congress, Ms. Guo's family once again called the Qianfeng Corporation Ltd. to ask when she would return home. They were told they had no idea, and would ask their supervisors. Ms. Guo's family received a call from the security office on the afternoon of November 19th, telling them that Ms. Guo would return home on November 21st.

On the afternoon of November 21st, neighbourhood officials and local police sent Ms. Guo home in a car. Ms. Guo refused to get out of the car, and demanded an explanation for the 23 days of detention. Physically and mentally devastated, Ms. Guo asked them to take responsibility for their crimes and compensate her for her financial losses.

At this moment, Ms. Guo's father, husband and younger sister also arrived, and demanded an explanation of which law Ms. Guo had violated, and why they had arbitrarily arrested and detained an innocent person. Police officer Li Xia said that the neighbourhood officials had asked them to do so, and told the family to take Ms. Guo home. The police drove out of Ms. Guo's residential community to take two other Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Yin Sirong and Ms. Yang Shuhua, who were also released on the same day, home. After that, they dragged Ms. Guo out of the car and left her on the road outside of her residential community.
