Press Central Rome, 25th September:

Nearly 200 Falun Gong practitioners from Sweden, Germany, France, Japan, Korea and Taiwan, gathered today in front of the Parliament, to express the fact that 282 Falun Gong practitioners were killed in China’s police custody.

Erping Zhang, spokesman for Falun Gong, said that among the dead Falun Gong practitioners there are senior people over 70 years old, as well as babies of eight months. Today Falun Gong practitioners came from all over the world voluntarily, to gather at the Italian Parliament, and to use a peaceful sitting demonstration to express the concerns about Falun Gong issues.

Two practitioners from Taiwan also joined the activities. They are Huiwen Zheng and Fanglan Wang. Together with other practitioners they sat in front of the Parliament. The Vice Chair of the Parliament as well as other MPs received the practitioner representatives and accepted the petition letter.

The whole activities lasted some three hours. At about 3pm, a parade was held between Piazza del Trevor and the Chinese Embassy. At the embassy the petition letter was refused. The people in the parade held banners in front of the embassy and continued their peaceful demonstration exercises.

In the evening a candle vigil was held at Piazza del Trevor. The whole activities ended at about 11pm.
