On July 8th, Ms. Tian Ling, a practitioner from Wuhan City, was abducted, along with several other practitioners, at a local site for the production of information to expose the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts, kept secret until recently, have now been confirmed to be the Xiaogan No.1 Detention Centre. The police confiscated Falun Dafa books, flyers, brochures, and equipment from the production site. At the detention centre, Tian Ling began a hunger strike to protest the illegal treatment. She then suffered from a high fever that lasted for a long time. A liver disease, which had disappeared after she started to practise Falun Gong, also recurred.

The detention centre refused to release her and even reported her to the higher authorities in order to claim credit; saying they would sentence her to a long prison term.

Tian Ling's husband and mother-in-law both practise Falun Gong. Her mother-in-law has been abducted several times. Their home has been ransacked and they have also been monitored by the district branch of the Public Security Bureau and local neighbourhood committee. Tian Ling and her husband Fu Lulin were forced to become homeless after being continuously harassed by the police for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

On April 12th, 2001, they were all abducted by the Municipal Public Security Bureau and put on trial. Despite the court's unlawful way of handling the case, due to the lack of evidence, the trial could no longer proceed. However, the court still sentenced Tian Ling, two months pregnant at the time, to 8 years in prison and Fu Lulin to 10 years. It seemed the trial was nothing more than a mere formality.

Several months after sentencing, Tian Ling was allowed to go home, but only under surveillance, as she had just had the baby. When their daughter Tiantian was only one year old, the Public Security Bureau threatened to take Tian Ling into custody. Tian Ling was forced to leave home to avoid persecution. The baby is being looked after by Tian Ling's mother. She is now three years old and has never seen her father. She has not seen her mother since she was a one-year-old infant.

Tian Ling's mother-in-law was not allowed to see her son because she also practises Falun Gong. The family has been torn apart.

We hope that kindhearted people will help rescue Tian Ling so she can once again be with her daughter and family.
