Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Wang Ye, from Shanghai City had a stroke at the end of April 2000. During her persecution by brainwashing at the hands of the "610 Office," police and the neighbourhood administration, she was constantly harassed by her employer, and died eighteen days later.

Ms. Wang Ye was 46 years old, and a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shanghai City. She had very poor health before cultivating Falun Dafa, including high blood pressure, anemia, etc., and had a bad temper. After cultivating Falun Dafa, her blood pressure returned normal, her facial colour became beautiful, and both her mind and body changed dramatically. Wang Ye often said that Falun Dafa saved her life.

In July 1999, Jiang and his regime instigated the total persecution of Falun Dafa. Wang Ye went to Beijing to appeal, clarified the truth about Falun Gong, but was forcibly escorted back to Shanghai, and tortured by"610 Office" personnel. During the last several months, she was harassed constantly by her employer, the neighbourhood administration, and the police. They used whatever means they could to torture her psychologically. Under the overwhelming pressure in this environment and the additional pressure from the media, her husband also started to pressure her.

In such an atmosphere, Wang Ye's high blood pressure condition returned. Toward the end of April 2002, her employer attempted to force her to give up her faith, and to obtain her promise not to go to Beijing to appeal again. She absolutely refused to sign her name. She had endured almost six months of sleep deprivation, exhaustion, slander, and psychological tortures. She suffered a stroke, and became unconscious one night, and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. She died eighteen days later.
