Female Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong was so badly tortured and mistreated in China that she died on June the 16th 2005. On Saturday June the 25th, Norwegian Falun Gong practitioners held a demonstration at the Chinese Embassy in Oslo. They called for the murderers of Gao Rongrong to be brought to justice for their crimes. Gao was only 37 when she was killed. Only one year before, she had been tortured continuously with electric batons for seven hours, leaving her face severely disfigured.

Passers-by were very friendly, taking leaflets and expressing their support. One woman said, “I have passed by you so often when you have been here before, but now, for the first time, I finally want to know, what Falun Gong is all about. Please tell me.” We received lots of positive remarks from everyone.

We asked a resident if we could hang our banners on her fence and she said, “There are so many unbelievable bad things happening in China. I know. You are not the only group demonstrating here. There are also many other different groups here all the time. I support you.”

At the end of the demonstration, the Norwegian practitioners also delivered a letter to the Chinese Ambassador asking them to end the persecution and see that those who caused Gao’s death will be punished for their crimes.
