The 2005 UK Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was successfully held in Oxford on August 28th 2005.

Open-hearted Sharing

The arrangement in the conference hall was solemn and simple. Many Falun Gong practitioners shared their understandings and experiences of cultivation in this special period from different angles.

Two new practitioners talked about their experience of starting to practise Falun Gong and about their cultivation. They mentioned how they overcame their shyness and joined activities to make it possible for more people to get to know the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Western practitioner Natalia shared her experience of starting to practise Falun Gong in the UK, and then how she promoted Falun Gong in her home country Argentina. Among other things, she talked about her experience of taking part in anti-torture exhibitions and other activities to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong to the public.

Other practitioners discussed their experiences of trying to let Chinese people learn the truth about Falun Gong, and of purging the propaganda of the evil CCP from people’s minds, as well as how they coordinated with each other in complicated environments with righteous thoughts and righteous actions.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr Liu said that through sharing at conferences like this one, practitioners learned from each other how to do better cultivating themselves; it is very helpful for the progress of the group as a whole and also very effective in letting local people learn about Falun Gong.

Another Falun Gong practitioner Mr You said that with Falun Gong practitioners' persistent efforts to inform them about Falun Gong and the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party, more and more Chinese people see a bright future.

The experience sharing conference was successfully concluded at 5:00pm.

The UK Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference has been held annually since 1999. This conference was the seventh one.

Falun Gong and Falun Dafa

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional cultivation practice of mind and body in the Buddha school. The practice was introduced to the general public in 1992 by Mr Li Hongzhi and involves slow, gentle movements and meditation. Its principles are based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Since its introduction the practice quickly spread by word of mouth throughout China and then beyond. According to the reports by various media in Mainland China, Falun Gong was practised by about one hundred million people in China before the persecution campaign in 1999.

In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party initiated a brutal persecution campaign against Falun Gong. Human rights organisations have recorded over 2700 deaths as a result of torture and inhuman treatment. Many orphans of those practitioners persecuted to death are leading miserable and terrible lives.

Despite the persecution of Falun Gong in China, Falun Gong has received over seven hundred awards and proclamations from national governments and organisations in over fifty countries. Its founder, Mr Li Hong Zhi, has been nominated a few times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The peaceful and rational resistance and appeal by worldwide Falun Gong practitioners has been recognised by more and more people, media and governments. The persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist regime are widely condemned by many human rights organisations and people seeking justice.
