How Six Older People Died as a Result of the Persecution in Henan, Sichuan, Shandong and Liaoning Provinces

Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Qiuyan from Dalian City Passed Away in August 2003

Ms. Wang Qiuyan, 55, was a Dafa practitioner from Dalian City. She was arrested in 2001 while she and other practitioners were distributing Dafa material and someone reported them. Ms. Wang was later held at the Jinshou District Detention Centre. She was not permitted to practise or cultivate Dafa during detention. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and was released. After a two-year battle with breast cancer she passed away in August, 2003.

Mr. Chen Tianbao, 59, was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Henan Province. He was arrested on March 2001, and was subjected to severe physical abuse. He was forced to stand barefoot outside in 101o F heat for an hour. He was not permitted to eat the food his family had delivered and he was continuously starved. Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Chen used to weigh about 200 lbs., but he became very skinny several months after his arrest. The officials released him on bail for medical treatment of uncontrolled hypertension. He failed to respond to the treatment and passed away on April 16th, 2005.

Mr. Wang Kunchao, 70, was a Dafa practitioner in Henan Province. His illnesses were healed after he began Falun Gong practice. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, agents from the 610 Office1 frequently came to his home to disturb him and his family. They came in a group each time. He was subjected to psychological abuse. Later he developed recurrent strokes, in combination with cardiac arrest. He passed away on September 8th, 2002.

Ms. Jiang Yu Xiu, 74, lived in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She began Dafa study in 1997 and previously had many kinds of illnesses. After beginning the practice, all her symptoms disappeared. In 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and was arrested by the police and taken back by local police from her area. She was released after paying a deposit. A year later, when police came to return her deposit, they forced her to "reform" [renounce Falun Gong] although she had already declared in solemn statements that her prior words and deeds under forced "reform" were null and void. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials frequently harassed her family. She passed away in March 2006.

Mr. Jiang Xuehui, 66, was a Dafa practitioner from the first village in the Shuanshan District, Suining City, Sichuan Province. Before he began Dafa practice he had several severe illnesses, including Hepatitis B, pleurisy and pulmonary emphysema. After practising his health was restored. Mr. Jiang attempted to go to Beijing in January 2001, to petition for Falun Gong, but was captured at Chongqing Train Station, sent back and incarcerated at the Wu Jiawan Detention Centre in Suining City. Police illegally searched his home. They were from the Yongxing Police Station and from the township government. Police confiscated Dafa books, flyers and videotapes. Mr. Jiang had been detained for three months and was released after paying a fine of 1,000 yuan2. Under the CCP long-term harassment, Mr. Jiang Xuehui could not normally practise and cultivate Dafa. His old illnesses recurred in September 2005, and he passed away on October 25th of the same year.

Mr. Han Shihui, 66, was from Liaocheng City, Shandong Province who began Dafa cultivation in 1997. Before practising Falun Dafa he'd had a stroke and other illnesses. After starting the Dafa practice, all his illnesses disappeared. Mr. Han continued practising following July 20th, 1999, but frequently received threats and harassment. These resulted in a relapse of his old illness. He passed away on December 28th, 2005.

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

2. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
