On June 26th, to mark International Day against Torture, Falun Gong practitioners held an activity in the centre of the Czech capital, Prague. Passers-by were reminded that brutal torture of innocent people is still taking place in many parts of today’s world.

One facet of the activities was a demonstration of some of the the torture methods used in China on prisoners of conscience, including solitary confinement in small cages. Bystanders could also see images depicting torture methods used in Chinese prisons and labour camp on practitioners determined not to renounce their faith in Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance.

Right before the event started a young man came up and said, “I know what Falun Gong is about. Why don’t you give me some flyers and I’ll take them to my Net Café".

Later on a woman appeared and said that she was from the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She said they already knew about it and had held a hearing on the issue.

During the activity, a practitioner with a loudspeaker broadcast the news about organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and the illegal organ trade in China. One after another, people came to sign the petition condemning the persecution of Falun Gong and the communist regime’s brutal ways of torture.

A reporter from Czech Radio conducted an interview with one of practitioners and said it would be broadcast in the near future.
