My Brother, Lin Mingli, Persecuted by Shanghai 610 Office Agents

My younger brother, Lin Mingli, was arrested by Shanghai police and brutally tortured at a labour camp for two years for practising Falun Gong. He was freed from the labour camp due to rescue efforts from the Canadian government and others.

Yet, the wicked Communist regime has never stopped persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

A short time after my brother was reunited with his wife he was suddenly arrested again by 610 Office1 agents when the couple was taking a stroll inside their apartment complex. He has been detained since 2005, only because he persists in Dafa practice. The local 610 Office regard him as a major target.

When he was arrested on October 3rd, 2005, the 610 Office agents arrested his friends and tortured them in an attempt to extract a confession that could be used against him. They tried to coerce them into providing "evidence" against Lin Mingli, but their efforts failed.

Lin Mingli was explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to people. People should have freedom of speech. He was merely exercising his right as a Chinese citizen. The police ransacked his home from 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. but could not find anything to incriminate him. Personnel from the Putuo District 610 Office submitted his case to the court twice. It was not accepted either time due to lack of physical evidence and eyewitnesses.

At a recent court trial, Lin Mingli was sentenced to prison despite the absence of evidence. The trial verdict was premeditated, as was the sentence.

I again call for all kind-hearted people to help rescue my brother and many other Falun Gong practitioners who are incarcerated and cruelly tortured and who face the possibility of being brutally murdered at any time.

Note

1. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
