Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Zhigao is physically disabled, and lives in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. At around 10 a.m. on May 21st, 2007, he was arrested by State Security agents and police officers. He is currently detained in the Daqing City Detention Centre, and his life is in danger due to being tortured. The reason given for his arrest is that he is suspected of distributing 1000 copies of the book, "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party1."

Mr. Liu Zhigao, 48, is an early-retiree of the Daqing City Water Company, and he lives in the first section of the Tieren Second Village. He had polio as a child, which resulted in the paralysis of his right leg. He was very weak, and had undergone an operation on his neck. Soon after he started cultivating Falun Dafa though, he became a new person. He was very strong and had colour in his cheeks. People all said he is a good person who never violates the law.

At around 10 a.m., on May 12th, 2007, State Security agents from the Daqing City Police Department (the 315 Office) led police officers, including Che Tong and Wang Tao (both male) from the Tieren District Police Department. They covered Mr. Liu Zhigao's head with a black bag, cuffed his hands behind his back, and dragged him into a police vehicle. They detained him in the Daqing City First Detention Centre and ransacked his home. They took away his stereo, a VCD player, a computer, repair tools, magnetic pieces, metal weight, and other miscellaneous items, which amounted to more than ten boxes. They also arrested his wife and took her into custody until 2 a.m.

Mr. Liu Zhigao has been detained for more than two weeks. He was tortured, and police took him to the hospital to be revived on several occasions with intravenous injections. His life is in danger, but the police refuse to release him.
