Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sha Naiyu lived in Da'an City, Jilin Province. On July 12th, 2007, he was arrested by Da'an City Communist Party Political and Judiciary Committee Secretary Liu Yunhua (female), Da'an City Police Department Deputy Director Chu Guojun (male, in charge of persecution within the city), and others. He died two days later under the custody of the Da'an City Police Department.

The police found Falun Dafa materials in Mr. Sha Naiyu's home. Liu Yunhua and Chu Guojun ordered them to brutally torture him. At around 6 p.m. on July 14th, 2007, Mr. Sha Naiyu was found dead on the ground outside the police department building. The police took him to the hospital to be resuscitated, but the doctors discovered that his internal organs were smashed, and there was a large amount of blood inside his stomach. The doctors pronounced him dead.

The police claimed that Mr. Sha jumped from the third floor while being interrogated, but the local people did not believe that. They instead believe it was not possible for him to die from falling from that height, and that the police may have thrown his body out the window to create a false scene. The police said themselves several days earlier when harassing Falun Dafa practitioners at home, "Our upper level bosses said we need kill a batch of practitioners before the Olympics."

The police have treated practitioners extremely cruelly. They lock practitioners in an iron chair1 or the tiger bench2 upon arresting them so that they cannot move at all. In 2003, practitioner Ms. Geng Jiqiu from Da'an City was locked in an iron chair for three whole days. A group police officers then beat her and nailed her breasts, causing Ms. Geng to suffer a mental collapse and heart problems. Her symptoms included paralysis of half of her body.

Note

1. Iron Chair: The "Iron chair" is made of iron pipes. Victims are restrained on the iron chairs with both arms and legs tied for a long period of time, see illustration at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/1/9/17577.html

2. "Tiger Bench": Prisoners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead without movement for long periods of time.
