Six Falun Dafa Practitioners Tortured in Changtu County, Liaoning Province

The 35 local police substations in Changtu County, Liaoning Province have been involved in the harassment, torture, and fining of Falun Gong practitioners and ransacked their homes in the eight years of persecution. Since May 2007, six practitioners have been subjected to persecution as a result of orders from the county's government officials, the Political and Legal Committee, the 610 Office1, and the Public Security Bureau.

On May 1st, 2007, when Mr. Li Wei was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution, Ping-an County Police Chief Li Fangming arrested him. While imprisoned, Mr. Li Wei was labelled as a criminal and sentenced heavily. The guards put heavy iron shackles on him and severely tortured him. His case has been sent to the Procuratorate.

On May 4th, 2007, Siping County residents Mr. Liu Qinhua and Mr. Meng Xiangchen were reported to the police while they were distributing leaflets. Mr. Meng Xiangchen was arrested by Liu Jianxin, team leader of the National Security Team, and Police Chief Zang Lei of the Mao Jiadian Police Station. Mr. Meng Xiangchen has been sentenced to three years in prison.

On June 21st, 2007, practitioner Mr. Sun Guowen was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution when he was arrested and severely beaten by local police. He was then sentenced to two years imprisonment in Shuangsheng Village Forced Labour Camp at Zuohouqi, Neimengke. He was later taken to the Wulanhaote Forced Labour Camp.

Houyao County resident Ms. Sun Yanqing was arrested by local police chief Nan Xudong when she was talking to people about Falun Dafa and the persecution at the marketplace. She was sentenced to two years of forced labour at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, where she is being tortured.

When Nan Xudong was police chief in Sida County, he also arrested practitioners Ms. Fan Yuxiang and her husband. The husband was sentenced to three years of forced labour.

Former Siping County police chief Zhao Tieshi searched the whole apartment building attempting to arrest Dafa practitioner Ms. Ma Dali, but was unsuccessful.

In Shiba Jiazi County on August 15th, 2007, Guo Xiaofeng and Shang Yufeng from the National Security Team, along with six to seven police officers, searched Mr. Zhao Shoujin's home and confiscated his computer and Dafa related materials. Two days later, on August 17th, team leader of the National Security Team Liu Jianxin and several police officers went to harass Mr. Zhao Shoujin's family and tried to force them to pay a 20,000 yuan2 fine. The family firmly refused to pay the perpetrators. In order to avoid further persecution, Mr. Zhao Shoujin has not been able to return home since.
