After Years of Persecution, Ms. Wang Yan Dies in Liaoning Province

Ms. Wang Yan, 56, lived in Huanren County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. She was an accountant employed by the Paoziyan Civil Construction Institute in Huanren County. After beginning Falun Dafa practice in 1996, her nearly broken family became peaceful, and she was considered, "a good person who is hard to find nowadays." She even helped other sick employees with their medical payments.

After the persecution of Falun Gong started, Ms. Wang went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. She was arrested both times and was detained in the Huanren County Detention Centre, where guard Cheng Xianliang (male) shocked her head with two electric batons, and forced her to wear ankle shackles for nine days. After being released, her employer and the County Communist Party Political and Judiciary Committee members threatened her several dozen times and arranged for her colleagues to watch her closely.

The local police ransacked her home many times. After Ms. Wang was detained for the third time, she was sentenced to three years of forced labour. Her mother-in-law had a stroke when the police ransacked their home, and when Ms. Wang was arrested, her mother was left at home with no one to care for her. Ms. Wang's employer withheld her salary and dismissed her from her position, causing her to lose her income. She became very sick, and her mind became unclear. She had to be released on bail for medical treatments.

Ms. Wang went to her employer and the County Communist Party Political and Judiciary Committee to request her salary and work position back, but her request was denied. In April 2005, her son was sentenced to three years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong. In the long eight years of persecution, Ms Wang and her family have been constantly harassed and threatened. Ms. Wang Yan died on October 20th, 2007.

After Years of Persecution, Ms. Zhang Qingying Dies in Tianjin

Ms. Zhang Qingying, 50, lived in Dongli District, Tianjin City. She began cultivating Falun Dafa in 1996. On July 10th, 2000, she was locked up for 25 days in the Dongli District Brainwashing Centre in Yaoliuqiao Township. She went to Beijing to appeal in August 2000, immediately after being released from the brainwashing centre. She was thus sentenced to 18 months of forced labour, served in the Tianjin City Women's Forced Labor Camp (formerly called Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp), where she was forced to do slave labour in the clothing factory. While at the forced labour camp she was deprived of sleep, and her blood pressure reached 220 due to the mental pressure and physical torture.

After Ms. Zhang was released from the forced labour camp in 2001, she did not stop practising Falun Dafa. The local police and Neighbourhood Administrators constantly harassed her, and she had a stroke in the summer of 2005.

On June 20th, 2006, when Ms. Zhang was in a fellow practitioner's house, she was arrested and then detained in the Dongli District Detention Centre, but was released one week later because her stroke symptoms recurred. The Dongli District police still sentenced her to two years of forced labour, and assigned policeman Han Junsheng to deliver the forced labour notification. Ms. Zhang refused to sign her name to the document. The forced labour camp refused to take her due to the severity of her condition, and the police then processed her case as "bailed out for medical treatment." Under the long-term pressure of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution, Ms. Zhang never recovered from her condition, and died on January 8th, 2008.
