Mother; what a lovely name that permeates with warmth and longing, caring and tenderness, selflessness and encouragement as well as expectations. Mother' s Day expresses our respect and longing for kind and selfless motherly love.
When you present flowers to wish your mom a Happy Mother' s Day, when you as a mother accept with joy greetings and wishes from your children, have you ever thought that at that very moment in China, thousands of caring moms are locked up in detention centres, labour camps, prisons or mental hospitals, simply because they firmly believe in "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance," because they read Zhuan Falun --a book that teaches people to be good and kind; they are abused because they practice a set of beautiful and gentle exercises; and because they refuse to give up their beliefs? These moms, apart from enduring daily physical abuses, are deprived of sleep and are subjected to the mental torment of forced brainwashing. During this cruel persecution, to date, 410 Falun Dafa practitioners are verified to have been tortured to death; among them, over half are women, and this figure is only the tip of the iceberg of the true death toll. There are many more moms who have been forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. In Mainland China, and even in other places outside of China where Jiang' group of gangsters can extend their control, people who practice Falun Dafa are subjected to various forms of harassment and persecution.
All moms who practice Falun Dafa are kind and selfless, and they have left the best to others and to the future. One mom who went on a hunger strike in jail to protest against her illegal detention said to those criminals who were force-feeding her, "I went on a hunger strike not only for myself. My son is five years old and he also practices Falun Dafa. In fact, my whole family has benefited a lot from practicing cultivation. If I don' give [of myself] and if I don' make an effort to tell people Falun Dafa is good and to stop the persecution, then when my son grows up he will suffer persecution as well. I' a mother, and what I give today is for his future life, and for all the children to be able to live in a peaceful and beautiful environment. For their future, no matter how much I give I have no regret and complaint. Don' you think I love children most?" Upon hearing these words, the criminals were moved to tears.
The meaning of motherly love has been raised and been expanded to a higher and wider realm by these moms who practice Falun Dafa. In their delicate bodies lie a profound spiritual realm: enduring unimaginable suffering with no complaint and with concern for sentient beings and for the future of all beings. Their unbending spirit is the paragon of the soul of humanity, a hope for the future and the pride of mothers.
It is the wish of all people in the world to respect and protect the interest of women and children and to safeguard peace. It is everyone' responsibility to call on people' kindness and to uphold justice. The world needs "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance." Please stretch out your helping hands to support these women. Open your heart and send them your sincere wishes for a Happy Mother' s Day!
