Exposing the Persecution at the No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province

In 2007, I was sent to the No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp Division 2 in Shandong Province, located in Zibo City. Upon arriving, several people came to persecute me, including Division 2 Head Zhao Wenhui, Deputy Head Sun Zhenhong, Shi Wei, and two collaborators¹. I did not give up my practice of Falun Gong. Guards then told the two collaborators and drug addict inmates to take turns watching me. They deprived me of sleep, access to the toilet, and the use of water.

I was forced to stand for a long time (three days and four nights) twice. My legs were severely swollen and I could barely walk. I refused to write words defaming Falun Gong, so the guards gave me a heavy workload. They also used these methods to torture other practitioners.

Ms. Liu Shuhua, another practitioner, was detained in the labour camp for the third time. She refused to give up her practice, so Zhao Wenhui told drug addict inmates to watch her. They deprived her of sleep, access to the toilet, and the use of water. In addition, they poured water on the floor so that she could not sit. In order to receive awards, the drug addict inmates used different way to torture her, including beating and kicking. As a result, Ms. Liu is now mentally disordered.

Practitioner Ms. Li Xiaoyan refused to give up the practice. Sun Zhenhong consistently pushed, making her stumble step after step. Zhao Wenhui told drug addict inmates Jiang Lixia and Qiang Doudou to deprive her of sleep and force her to stand for a long time. When Ms. Li went to the toilet, they pushed her into the toilet. Sometimes they dragged her out before she finished. As a result, Ms. Li had faeces on her.

Because Ms. Wang Wenqi shouted, "Falun Gong is good," female guards Zhao Wenhui and Sun Zhenhong deprived her of sleep for a long time. As a result, she had symptoms of sickness.

In the labour camp, guards forced practitioners to write weekly reports, comments, or other words to defame Falun Gong. Whoever refused to write was forced to stand for a long time and not allowed to sleep.

Practitioners had to get up at 5:00 a.m. and then work for 12-13 hours a day. Guard Shi Wei assigned practitioners two days worth of work in one day. The practitioners worked very hard but still could not finish the work load. Later, they found out it was because Shi Wei had deceived them. For their own purposes, the guards told each practitioner to buy four sets of uniforms and two bed covers for inspection, regardless of their financial status. Whenever there was a notice for inspection, the guards ordered the detainees to hide the work materials until the inspectors left.
