On July 11, 2009, near the day that marks ten years of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners in Germany held a rally and march in front of the Chinese Embassy in Berlin calling for the disintegration of the CCP and an end to the persecution.

Only disintegration of CCP can lead to an end of the persecution

The Representative from the German Falun Dafa Association read an open letter to every country's government calling for support for this great human rights effort in the 21st century. The letter stated that only the disintegration of CCP can lead to an end of the persecution.

Mr. Schedler from the Society for Threatened Peoples (Gesellschaft fuer bedrohte Voelker) condemned the CCP's brutal persecution of peaceful Falun Gong practitioners in his speech. The persecution has caused the deaths of more than three thousand Falun Gong practitioners

Mr. Schedler said, "Ten years ago, the CCP started a systemic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Based on reports from the United Nations, 6600 torture cases in China are on Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP even harvests vital organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and sells them to foreigners. The police involved in the persecution are not brought to justice, but rewarded for their crimes."

He continued, "China not only has its own constitution, but is also bound by the universal human rights covenant. The Society for Threatened Peoples will continue its efforts to bring those main perpetrators in the persecution of Falun Gong to justice."

After the rally, the practitioners held a march from Potsdamer Platz to the square in front of William Memorial Church via several main busy streets in Berlin. The march lasted more than two hours and caught the attention of many passers-by and visitors. Many took photos or footages and accept flyers from Falun Gong practitioners.

In the evening, the activity continued on the square in front of William Memorial Church.

"Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step"

Ms. Annemarie Lecoq from France and her daughter were touring Berlin. When they passed by the Falun Gong information desk, she was shocked after learning about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. She thought it was intolerable that such things occur in today's world and practitioners were killed without even notifying their family members. She signed the petition form.

She told the reporter, "My nephew is going to marry a Chinese girl. I talked about the human rights situation in China with that girl. She did not believe it. Instead, she thought that there were no human rights violations in China. All things occurring in China are covered up or hidden by the media there. Though many people think China has changed, it still is a totalitarian regime. I'll take these informational materials to her and ask her to take a look."

Mr. Christian Schwedeczki and his girlfriend had just visited the museum. He said in front the information desk, "I think the persecution of Falun Gong must be exposed. We live in a country that does not have much information about the persecution. This information desk helps us to know things occurring in another country. This is my first time to hear about the persecution of Falun Gong."

He continued, "There is a saying in China 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. I know that I have no idea about many things occurring in the world. But it is important and should be changed if there are things occurring and violations of human rights. If we can do something here today, we wish to do it."

In July 1999, the CCP with all its state machinery initiated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Facing the brutal and long-lasting persecution, they do not retreat but keep exposing the CCP's persecution and explaining to people what Falun Gong is and why the CCP wants to persecute Falun Gong.
