Mr. Fu Ziming was a Falun Gong practitioner from Jianli County, Hubei Province. Around April 20th, 2009, Wuyishan City Police Station official in Fujian Province persecuted Mr. Fu Ziming to death. Ten days later, on April 30th Wuyishan City Police Department officials and Nanping City Party officials arrested Mr. Zhang Hongzhang, a Falun Gong practitioner employed at Wuyishan City Education Bureau.
Several government agencies were involved in the arrest on April 30th, 2009, including Wuyishan City Education Bureau, Nanping City Party officials and officers from Wuyishan Police Department. On April 30th, Mr. Zhang Hongzhang was called out by the Education Bureau Head and was then arrested. Police also went to his home to confiscate his personal property. The policemen involved were: Zhou Guisheng, Peng Min, Cao Da, Yang Zibao (from Wuyishan Police Department) and Tang Dazhong (from Wuyishan Police Department Domestic Security Division).
Mr. Zhang Hongzhang was once Head of Education Bureau Workers' Union as well as Head of the Education Bureau Finance Department. Because of pressure from higher government agencies, the Education Bureau removed these titles from him. Mr. Zhang Hongzhang is well known for his good character.
As a result of being persecuted, Mr. Zhang Hongzhang suffered many illnesses. On May 9th, 2009, he passed out during an interrogation with blood pressure as high as 220-240. The police had to send him to a hospital for examination. Many friends and co workers heard about this and went to the hospital to visit him. However, the police were afraid that his situation would be exposed and thus forcibly took him away although he was severely ill. Right now, Mr. Zhang Hongzhang is detained at Wuyishan Detention Centre.
Wuyishan City official closely monitors the family of Mr. Zhang Hongzhang; however, the information cannot be contained and was still passed on to the outside.
