Dr. Huang Pingping, a 32-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, graduated from Jiamusi University in Heilongjiang Province. After graduation, she went to the hospital in Shan County, Shandong Province to work as an obstetrician in 2002. She was arrested by the police and sent to the Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labour Camp for two years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong. The following, recalled by her fellow alumni, describes how Dr. Huang Pingping was persecuted.

We are writing this article so that the Chinese people can know the truth in hopes that they will offer their assistance to rescue these virtuous practitioners and help them return home as soon as possible.

Physical and Mental Benefits from Practising Falun Gong Right from the Beginning

Dr. Huang was born in a small county in northern Heilongjiang Province in 1978. She was physically weak as a child, and her allergic rhinitis once caused her to discontinue her education. Fortunately, she began to practise Falun Gong in 1997. She soon experienced a carefree state without any ailing diseases and realized the true meaning of life. After practising Falun Gong, her improved mental and physical health allowed her to be successfully admitted to a university.

Persecution in College

After Ms. Huang entered university, she described the beauty of Falun Gong to her classmates through her own experiences.

The Chinese Communist Party began to suppress Falun Gong after July 20th, 1999. Ms. Huang volunteered to tell the truth about Falun Gong to those she knew. Once, she told the truth to a classmate, Nie Lei. However, he believed the lies perpetrated by the regime's media. The end of the school term was approaching, so Ms. Huang wrote him a letter to explain the facts to him. He turned the letter over to the school's leaders. They threatened Ms. Huang's parents and convinced them to help "transform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] her. Her parents were deeply poisoned by the party. Because of their fear of persecution, they beat their beloved daughter, confined her at home, and threatened to break her legs.

During five years' of university life, even though she faced pressure from all her friends, family members, classmates, and teachers, Ms. Huang always held fast to her beliefs without complaining.

Arrested at Work

After becoming an obstetrician at the Shan County Hospital, she treated all her patients kindly. When her parents came to the hospital for treatment, she paid for every piece of gauze they used with her own money.

Due to the Party's implication persecution policy, for fear of losing their own interests, Dr. Huang's co-workers tried to make her leave her position many times.

The Shan County Police Department began to arrest Falun Gong practitioners with the Heze City police on March 31st, 2008. Ms. Huang was arrested at work. The hospital director and department heads all knew about her arrest, but nobody informed her parents. The police plundered seven to eight thousand yuan1 from her office closet. She was taken to the Heze City Detention Center and then to the Shandong Provice No. 1 Women's Forced Labour Camp for two years of forced labour around May 4th. She is still there.
