Sunday 6th Sepetmber 2010 was a vibrant and colourful day in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Greater london. The streets were alive with the countless stalls, performers, and spectators as different communities from around the world came together in the Kingston Carnival.

The exercises of Falun Gong attracted many people who had come to the festival. People gathered to watch the gentle movements and the sitting meditation. The stall featuring more information about Falun Gong was in the busy central area of the market square. When passing by the stall, many people were interested in learning the exercises and coming to the free weekly sessions. They took the fliers with no hesitation. One girl was even more keen to come after hearing that the practice was based on the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

Many people were interested in finding out more about the practice.

Some Chinese ladies had seen the exercises being performed on stage, they walked past the stall for Falun Gong and smiled. They wanted to take some paper lotus flowers to give to their students. A western school teacher also came by, attracted to the handmade paper lotus flowers decorating the stall. She wished to give some to her young students. After hearing that the lotus flowers helped to raise awareness of the persecution against Falun Gong in China, she was interested in having a workshop for the students.

A young girl in her twenties made her way over to the stall. After speaking to the practitioner her eyes lit up, she said that she had been looking for a meditation practice recently.
