Falun Gong practitioners in Germany and Switzerland gathered in Freiburg, Germany on October 23, 2010, to tell people the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. Many passersby signed petitions condemning the persecution, and some expressed interest in learning the practice.

An information desk was set up next to University of Freiburg in the city centre. Practitioners displayed banners and other materials on the sidewalk. As many Chinese students walked by, one of them asked to take pictures of the banners. The practitioners welcomed him to do so and encouraged him to take the pictures back to China.

The student didn't know about the quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) movement, and a practitioner explained why 82 million Chinese people to-date have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. The student agreed to quit as well. Before he left, he took the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party with him.

A few Chinese students came by and read the posters. As they were talking, a practitioner asked them whether they had quit the CCP. One said that he had never been a good student and hence had never joined the Young Pioneers. The practitioner told him that it was a good thing that he had never joined, and that he should remember "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good." He replied, "Thank you. I will also tell my family to remember this phrase, and tell them that it brings good fortune."

Another girl said that she had left China when she was six. "I can't read Chinese but I have worn the red scarf," said the girl. The practitioner told her the meaning of quitting the CCP and its affiliates. She gladly said, "Please help me quit."

A few more Chinese students, after reading the posters, didn't say much, and asked the practitioners to help them quit the CCP.

One German woman came to ask what Falun Dafa is and why it is being persecuted. After she learned why the CCP launched the persecution, she signed, "What kind of reason is that? It is ridiculous." When she learned how the CCP harvests organs from living practitioners for illegal profits, she exclaimed, "Oh my, who makes that kind of money?" "(The doctors) are suppose to help the dying and injured, how could they do this?"

The practitioner told her that China is expanding the organ transplant business around the world, and even Germans go to China for transplants without knowing that the organs may come from killed Falun Gong practitioners. The woman said anxiously, "You should expose this in the media! You should contact the major media and expose this crime on TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines. If everyone knew, no one would go to China for organ transplants."

Another woman told the practitioner that she learned about the organ harvesting two years ago and found out more about it online. Both she and her son were shocked. "We thought it would be over by now. I can't believe it is still happening. Why hasn't Germany, a responsible great power, done anything to stop the persecution? I can't understand and I feel very sorry."

A man signed the petition condemning the persecution, and said he hoped that his signature would help. "This is not enough. Where is our government? This is a crime against humanity and the world's people and countries should stand up to stop it," said the man.

Two German women came to the information desk to ask for some materials. One of them said that she would put them in the school where she taught, to inform her colleagues and students. The other said that she wanted to bring the materials to the city opera house and let the audiences read them.
