For eleven years, Gongzhuling Prison in Jilin Province has followed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mandate to persecute Falun Gong practitioners and implemented the requirements of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Visitors must have a letter from the local 610 Office before visiting Falun Gong practitioners, and they will be asked if they practise Falun Gong at the checkpoint. They will not be allowed to visit without fulfilling these two requirements. It was announced recently that only immediate family members will be allowed to visit.

Mr. Zhao Guo, a practitioner from Jilin, has been detained in Gongzhuling Prison for almost four years, and his parents have never had a chance to visit him. The prison did not allow practitioner Mr. Zheng Fengxiang's wife to visit him.

Mr. Liu Guangzhi has been in Gongzhuling Prison for more than three years, and he has not been allowed any visits during that entire time. From July 7th, 2007, until the present, none of his family members or friends have been permitted to see him. On December 2nd, 2010, three of his family members travelled by bus for several hours to the prison. At the front desk they were told that, because Mr. Liu did not give up practising Falun Gong, they had to have a letter from their local 610 Office before they could see him. They could do no more than leave 300 yuan1 for Liu Guangzhi to spend in the prison before they left.

Mr. Liu Hongwei, a practitioner from Jilin City, has been tortured so severely that he is now disabled. He cannot walk and is in a wheelchair. He was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. Before leaving Jilin City to visit her son in prison in Siping City, Mr. Liu's 80-year old mother had to get a letter from the 610 Office in Chuanying every time. During her visit, others had to carry Mr. Liu out to see her. When she saw that her handsome and talented son had been persecuted by the Party to the point that he was paralysed, she cried uncontrollably. Liu Hongwei's wife was tortured to death on May 14th, 2002, in Jilin Women's Prison. Their daughter was being taken care of at her maternal grandmother's home, and her paternal grandmother wanted to help take care of her. However, she could not due to financial difficulties. Grief-stricken, Liu Hongwei's mother passed away. Mr. Liu remains in custody in Gongzhuling Prison.

Gongzhuling Prison focuses on persecuting practitioners. Recently, practitioners who did not give up their belief were secretly persecuted here. The prison colluded with 610 Offices in Jilin Province to persecute Falun Gong using extremely cruel means, and many practitioners have been tortured to death there.
