On March 4th, the Korea Judicial Reform and Pan People's Association, Falun Dafa Association, and citizens from Seoul held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy, calling for the expulsion of the Chinese deputy consul general, Jin Yanguang. The organisers announced that they would promote a nationwide campaign, because they believe that Jin has violated the rights of Koreans, broken Korean laws, and damaged the Chinese image.

Jin and his assistants infiltrated the Korean government and different organisations to try to keep Shen Yun Performing Arts from appearing on stage in Korea. In the end, they failed.

The Falun Dafa Association of South Korea stated that Busan Consul General Hua Bing, Vice Consul General Jin Yanguang, Seoul Embassy Cultural Affairs Officer Wang Chuan, Political Affairs Officer Chen Hai, and other consular representatives threatened Busan City Hall and the Busan Cultural Association, saying that allowing Shen Yun to perform would damage South Korea’s relationship with China. The Association said that the consulate also phoned television stations and told them the performances were cancelled, instructing them to stop playing Shen Yun advertisements.

Consular officials also contacted theatres and local government offices in the South Korean cities of Goyang (Aram Nuri Theatre) and Daegu (Suseong Artpia Theatre) where Shun Yun was due to perform next. Consular representatives asked them to cancel the rental contracts, but in both cities, the requests were spurned as local officials explained that the city had no right to annul a private contract

In January 2011, the hosting organisation submitted a petition to the Busan District Court Second Administrative Department. The following morning, as the court was reviewing the case, Shen Yun’s artists and technical crew arrived at the Busan theatre ready to set up for that evening’s performance. Shen Yun’s three performances in Busan were sold out. After that, the Chinese consular officials spoke with the local governments and theatres in Goyang and Gaegu, demanding the cancellation of the rental contracts in those cities. In both cities the theaters declared that the Chinese Embassy did not have any right to request the cancellation of a performance, and there was no valid reason for doing so. The local governments in these cities affirmed that the city had no right to interfere with private contracts.

Mr. Zheng Qiuchen, the representative of the Korea Judicial Reform and Pan People's Association, said in his speech that communism and democracy cannot co-exist. He said that people should not believe in the Communist Party. Other speakers pointed out that the Chinese embassy spent much time and energy on interfering with Shen Yun, which amounted to clear, indisputable evidence of the evil nature of the Communist Party.

Several local citizens said that the Chinese Communist Party should not interfere with the cultural activities in Korea, because it is against Korean laws.

The organisers announced that they would start a nationwide campaign, investigate Jin Yanguang's activities in Korea, and have him expelled.
