December 4, 2011 was International Human Rights Day. Falun Gong practitioners from Rovanieni, Finland, took this opportunity to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China to the public. They collected signatures in support of Falun Gong and called upon Finnish people to help stop the persecution.

Despite the snow and cold weather, many people stopped and signed the petition. Two Chinese tourists talked to practitioners, and quit the Chinese Communist Party.

Mr. Shi Wenbo, a local practitioner, told people about his own experiences of being persecuted in China. His mother, Shen Shuhua, and his grandmother, Song Yaqin, were tortured to death in China because they practiced Falun Gong. His uncle and aunt, Shen Quanhui and Li Fengyun, were sentenced to eight years in Jilin Province in 2009. Shen Quanhui is currently incarcerated in Jilin Provincial Prison.

Mr. Jin Shaoyu, another local practitioner, told people that his mother had been sentenced to eight years in 2008 by the Jinshui Court in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. She is currently in the Women's Prison in Xinxiang, Henan. Family members have not been allowed to visit her.
