On March 15th-18th, 2012, the Bangkok city government held an “84-km Walk” activity to celebrate the Thai king’s 84th birthday, and to raise funds to build a hospital for the elderly. Local Falun Gong practitioners participated in the parade on March 16th. The Falun Gong contingent, which featured a flag team, a waist drum team, and celestial maidens, was bright, colourful, and full of energy. They received high praise from the Thai people and tourists along the parade route.

Many people were impressed by the Falun Gong contingent. One person from Thailand said, “I’ve never seen such beautiful outfits - really nice, really attractive.” Many people clapped, and some enthusiastically waved and greeted the celestial maidens as they passed by.

When the parade procession stopped outside the Grand Palace, tour buses carrying Chinese tourists passed by it one after another. These Chinese tourists inside the buses were surprised to see Falun Gong practitioners in the parade, and some quickly called other tourists to come and see. A Korean couple walked up to a practitioner to find out more about Falun Gong.

The beauty of Falun Dafa and the practitioners’ confident and positive demeanor earned high praise from the Thai people. Many people took pictures of the practitioners during the parade, and many posed for pictures with Falun Gong practitioners.

As the parade procession marched through Bangkok’s Chinatown, a middle-aged couple from Beijing saw Falun Gong practitioners in the parade, and the husband told his wife, “Quick! Take a picture! It’s great!” The wife ran to the front of the Falun Gong contingent to have a photo taken.
