Ms. Xu Jingxian, a Falun Gong practitioner in Changsha City, Hunan Province, was arrested by officers from the Pozijie Police Station in the Tianxin District on the afternoon of March 30th, 2012, while she distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to people. She is being held in the Changsha City Detention Centre.
Diseases Cured After Practising Falun Gong
Ms. Xu Jingxian is retired from the Changsha Construction Company and lives at Zhushanyuan, Kaifu District, Changsha City. She used to suffer from several diseases, including stomach illness and indigestion. Seeking relief, she took countless Chinese medicines and spent a lot of money on medical treatments, but nothing helped.
Ms. Xu heard about Falun Gong and started to practise in 1996. She practiced the exercises and followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance on a daily basis, striving to be a good person. Not long afterward, all of her health problems disappeared, and she became energetic and looked younger. By witnessing the miraculous changes in her, her family came to know the wonder of Falun Gong.
Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong in July, 1999, Ms. Xu has been arrested multiple times for her faith. For a long time, the Zhushanyuan Residential Committee demanded that her neighbours monitor her and her family.
On April 7th, 2005, Ms. Xu and her family were arrested by agents from the Xinhe Police Station and the Domestic Security Division of Kaifu District. Zhu Jiang, Wang Jianguang, and Liu Jing led the police in this arrest. Later, Ms. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison and jailed in Hunan Province Female Prison. While imprisoned there, she was forced to do slave labour for long hours every day. She was also tortured physically and mentally.
While her husband and son do not practise Falun Gong, they were also sentenced to forced labor for supporting her. The police and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) even tried to coerce her husband to divorce her.
After Ms. Xu's family was arrested, the police entered their home. They ransacked Ms. Xu's house and confiscated all of the family's items of value, including computers, copier, digital camera, mobile phone, over 26,000 yuan1 in cash and other items. The family's clothes were thrown around, the furniture was left in a mess, and everything in the closets was scattered about.
Arrested Again in 2012
Ms. Xu's husband suddenly developed gastric cancer in 2011, and two thirds of his stomach had to be removed. After the surgery, he became weak and thin. Ms. Xu had to take care of him and do all the housework.
Ms. Xu was arrested again by officers from the Pozijie Police Station in Tianxin District on the afternoon of March 30th, 2012. She is presently detained at the Changsha City Detention Centre.
Although her husband is still very weak, he went to the Pozijie Police Station several times to request her release. The police claimed that it's not their responsibility, and that her case is being handled by the Tianxin District Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Xu's family is very worried and hope that she can come home soon. Please offer your kind help to stop this persecution and help Ms. Xu reunite with her family as soon as possible.
