Persecution Spreads from China to Europe

  • Speech from ‘European Friends of Falun Gong’ Seminar in UK Parliament: “Rescue my Sister Baolian, a Falun Gong Practitioner Imprisoned in Beijing”

"Baolian is only one of the thousands of unlawfully detained Falun Gong practitioners in China. The persecution in China continues and the number of deaths from torture increases. The Falun Dafa Information Centre has confirmed that around 780 practitioners have died, over 100,000 have been illegally sent to labour camps, more than 500 Falun Gong practitioners have been sentenced to prison terms of up to 18 years, and hundreds of thousands of practitioners have been illegally arrested and detained."
  • Danish Newspaper Reports on Jiang Regime’s Persecution of a Chinese Businessman (pictures)

Zhu´s private properties in China were at that time valued at about ten million Danish Crowns (about £1 million/1.35 million Euros). In 2002, all his business activities in China were seized and closed down by the National Security Bureau. Without any judicial documentation the authorities entered his premises and confiscated his business licences and all documents relating to his accounts. All his employees were dismissed and questioned about whether they practise Falun Gong...Closing down his three companies was a cause of great economical pressure for Xuezhi Zhu. And at the same time all his personal belongings, including his house, his car and his savings were confiscated.
  • Germany: Campaign to Rescue Practitioners Chen Xiaozhu and Yu Hongli who have been Illegally Arrested in China

Since July 2003, activities have begun all over Germany to expose the evil persecution and collect signatures to rescue two Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally arrested in China. Many German people who have signed the petition also took petition forms home to collect signatures from their families and friends.
  • Article from German newspaper "Rhein-Neckar": A Song of Protest for Xiong Wei

'The International Human Rights Association is also helping us with the rescue activities. They have organised a campaign to “send postcards to the German government”. Xiong Wei’s friends in Heidelberg are hoping that she will soon hear this special song. (Online listening available on www.friends-of-xiongwei.de).'
  • Hong Kong: "Obstruction Case" Appeal Scheduled for September 3, May Involve the Basic Law

The trial for the appeal was initially slated for the Supreme Court, but the judge thinks it may involve the Basic Law and has transferred it to the Appeals Court. It is estimated the trial will last three days. Spokesperson Xu Jun of the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association said, "The ruling in West District Court on August 15, 2002 was unfair. The Basic Ordinance for vendors was misused to restrict the right to petition, which is no different than losing the freedom to petition. It apparently violated the Basic Law."
  • UK Practitioner Lili Lin Granted Asylum

“I appreciate greatly the help that the UK government has offered us. I would also like to sincerely call for the UK government to express its concern for Falun Gong practitioners, who are still suffering inhuman persecution in Mainland China. I hope that the suppression of “Truthfulness, Kindness, Tolerance” will end soon.”
  • Campaign Begins to Rescue a UK Practitioner’s Younger Brother, who is Incarcerated, Suffering Torture and in a Critical Physical Condition in China

During the four years of persecution by the Jiang regime, UK practitioner Bing HE’s brother, Jian, has been incarcerated in a labour camp in Wuhan for eighteen months without trial, and has been tortured many times for practising Falun Gong and peacefully appealing against the cruel persecution. Around 22 June 2003, he was arrested again to suffer further at the hands of the police. Two weeks later, Bing learned that his brother is struggling for his life in a hospital heavily guarded by the police.
  • Denmark: The Ministry of Justice Gave a Righteous Judgment - the Chinese Embassy’s Attempts to Sabotage Falun Gong Activities were in Vain Again (pictures)

The Chinese embassy wrote a letter to high-ranking police officials to complain about our appeal. In the letter, the Chinese embassy took advantage of June 4th when many other groups, besides Falun Gong practitioners, made their protests. The Chinese officials tried to confuse the officials by intentionally implying that the protest methods used by other groups were part of Dafa practitioners’ peaceful appeal. In this way, the Chinese embassy launched slanderous attacks against us.
  • UK: Kind-hearted People make Great Efforts to Rescue UK Resident's Fiancée Yongjie

UK practitioners have collected more than 12,000 signatures calling for Yongjie to be rescued immediately. A lot of people in England have expressed their support for this campaign. The British media, have widely reported on Yongjie’s case and pledged their support for the rescue activities initiated by her fiancé.
  • A Londoner's Struggle to Rescue His Fiancée from a Beijing Labour Camp

"I worry constantly about her safety. I read everyday about practitioners being subjected to severe physical, mental, and sexual abuse and I dread to think what she might be suffering. She is a sweet-natured person who always thinks of others before herself and would not hurt anyone. She has not committed any wrongdoings and poses no danger to anyone."
  • Hungary: The Withholding of my Passport is Another Example of the Jiang Regime Persecuting Falun Gong Outside of China

Did they not know that every person with a sense of justice can see right through their pathetic lies? They stated clearly that unless I signed a letter guaranteeing to give up Falun Gong, there was no way I could get my passport back. They wanted to make it difficult for me to stay in Hungary by withholding my passport; they wanted to force me to give up my pursuit of “Truth, Kindness, Tolerance” by means of disrupting my work and my kid’s education.
  • A Small German Town Arouses the Chinese Embassy's Special Attention

Falun Gong practitioners took part in a big parade in the town of Kronach. The Mayor, Governor and members of the media all attended the activity. There was continuous applause and praise. When people heard that Falun Gong is persecuted in China, they were extremely astonished. They would never have guessed that the girl sitting in the lotus flower had been locked up in a Beijing prison.
  • Russia: An Invitation to a Press Conference held by Dafa Practitioners in St. Petersburg

What has already caught the public’s attention is the pressure placed on foreign governments by the Chinese Consular Service abroad. Such behaviour is obviously interference in the domestic affairs of those countries involved, such as spreading rumours and compiling blacklists, etc. The purpose is to discredit Falun Gong...It is such a pity that this attitude is adopted toward a peaceful, non-violent Falun Gong cultivation group in a respected country like Russia.
  • UK: Zheng Xujun Is Suffering Persecution after His Return to China

Since the Jiang regime began to viciously persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, many overseas Chinese practitioners have suffered because of their belief after returning to China. According to reliable information, Mr. Zheng Xujun, a visiting scholar at Liverpool University, was arrested in September 2001 and is now imprisoned at the Tuanhe Labour Camp in Beijing. Recently, Zheng’s friends were interviewed about his current situation.
  • Hungary: Chinese Embassy in Budapest is Afraid of Dafa Practitioners' Appeal

This is yet another example of the extension of the Jiang regime’s persecution to Europe. It is ridiculous that the PR China (via the Chinese Embassy) considers a couple of Falun Gong practitioners meditating a threat. It seems that the evil people are afraid of their wrongdoings being exposed to the international community and the general public.
