Mr. Deng Jiangang from Meishan, Sichuan Province Sent Home from Prison in Critical Condition

Mr. Deng Jiangang is a Falun Gong practitioner from Fengming Town, Meishan in Sichuan Province. He was held in detention centres in 2001 and 2004, where he underwent brutal torture. He was sentenced in 2008 to five years in prison. His wife, Jiang Xiantao, was sentenced to three years in prison. Mr. Deng was held and tortured in the Wumaping Prison in Leshan. Recently, he was sent home, unconscious and in critical condition. -
Mr. Wei Liangyue from Harbin City Missing After Being Arrested by Domestic Security Agents
2012-07-24At 6:30 a.m. on May 25th, a man claiming to be a property management company employee called Mr. Wei Liangyue, a lawyer in Harbin City, telling Mr. Wei that his car had been hit. The man asked him to come outside to see the damage. After finally coming outside, Mr. Wei was arrested by over 20 plainclothes and uniformed policemen. He has not been in touch with his family until only recently, and his family has not received any documentation explaining the arrest. -
Older Female Practitioner's Arm Fractured During Violent Arrest in Chongqing
2012-07-24Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Tingzhen was seen at around 7 a.m. on June 9th handing out Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution by plainclothes police officers. One officer twisted Ms. Zhang's hands and stepped on them and said triumphantly: “I've waiting for you for a long time; I finally caught you today, my job is well done.” The policemen next dragged Ms. Zhang more than 10 feet. Ms. Zhang's arm was broken when she was dragged, and she was semi-conscious. Two of the officers said arrogantly: “You are pretending to be dead, yet we have orders from the top—we are not responsible if you die.” -
Mr. Yu Xuezhong Persecuted to Death in Gaoxin Police Station
2012-07-20The Jilin City Police Department launched a mass arrest of Falun Gong practitioners on the night of May 29th, 2012. Police ransacked practitioners' homes and seized their money and other items. Officers from the Gaoxin District Police Station went to practitioner Mr. Li Wenjun's home, and arrested Mr. Li as well as practitioner Mr. Yu Xuezhong, who happened to be visiting Mr. Li. Mr. Yu was beaten for not disclosing his name. He died the next day, May 30th, at the age of 53. -
Several Practitioners Arrested in Liaoyuan, Mr. Yu Jianhua Dies
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Yu Jianhua and his wife, Ms. Yang Lianzhen, from Changchun City, Jilin Province, were harassed by police, who were banging on the door of their newly rented apartment for a long period of time, on July 1st, 2012. In order to avoid arrest, the two practitioners started to climb down from their second level apartment. However, they both fell to the ground. They were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Mr. Yu died on July 4th. Ms. Yang is still in a coma and is in critical condition. -
Practitioner Li Wendong Force-Fed in Detention, Visits from His Wife Denied
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wendong was arrested in February of this year and has since been detained at a detention centre. He held a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was subjected to brutal forced-feeding. He was detained in a confinement room and tortured. His family has not been allowed to visit him. -
Ms. Li Jiaju, 58, Passes Away after Injection with Unknown Drug at Brainwashing Centre
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Jiaju, 58, and her husband were arrested after their home was broken into by police and officials in May, 2011. They were then sent to the Chenzhou City Beihu District Party School Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Li resisted the persecution by going on a hunger strike. Two weeks later, the brainwashing centre party officials administered an unknown IV fluid into Ms. Li and released her afterward. Ms. Li appeared to be physically weak after being released. After the 2012 Chinese New Year, Ms. Li started to have heavy bleeding with clots. It became more and more frequent to the point that she became bedridden. On April 16th, 2012, Ms. Li passed away. -
Hong Kong: Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Backed Thugs Interfere with Falun Gong Information Displays
2012-07-20Since June 10th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioners’ information displays at Hung Hom Train Station and Lok Ma Chau were repeatedly besieged by a newly formed pro-communist group, Hong Kong Youth Care Association Limited (HKYCA). Members of this group displayed many slanderous banners to mislead Mainland Chinese tourists. Some activists pointed out that this incident reflected deep fear from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and urged the Hong Kong police to take action. -
Curtain Shop Owner Ms. Hong Meishuang Arrested Again by Rizhao 610 Office
2012-07-20Ms. Hong Meishuang is a Falun Gong practitioner from Rizhao, Shandong Province. Since the Communist regime started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, she has been arrested, harassed and persecuted by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) several times. Since May 1st, following the orders of the Donggang District 610 Office, officials from the neighbourhood Party committee have attempted many times to force her to go to the Zhangqiu Brainwashing Centre in Jinan. After unsuccessfully attempting to make her go to the brainwashing class for two months, Rizhao 610 Office officials started to become more aggressive and on June 27th arrested Ms. Hong on the street and took her to the brainwashing centre. -
Mr. Cheng Zipeng, 50, Taken to Brainwashing Centre on Release Date from Four Year Prison Term
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cheng Zipeng was sentenced to a four-year imprisonment term in the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province. He was scheduled to be released on July 1st, 2012. However, officials from the Anlu City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) collaborated with prison officials and sent him to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Centre on his release date. His family had hoped to pick up him, but were turned away. -
Wei Changfeng Persecuted for Interrupting Chinese TV with Broadcasts with Programming About Falun Gong
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wei Changfeng, Ms. Xia Xiuwen and Ms. Cui Guifeng broadcast informational video programmes about Falun Gong by tapping into a television network in Nehe City, Heilongjiang Province. They were sentenced by the Nehe City Court in 2003. Mr. Wei Changfeng is still in prison. Ms. Xia Xiuwen and Ms. Cui Guifeng were sentenced to four years in prison. Mr. Wei Changfeng was tortured during the interrogation. He was placed on a tiger bench, hung up, shocked with electric batons, and mercilessly beaten and subjected to other methods of torture. -
Ms. Chen Linfen Arrested While Walking on the Road, Then Detained and Tortured in a Labour Camp
2012-07-20When I was detained in the Fujian Provincial Women's Forced Labour Camp, a guard instigated inmate Yu Aiqiong to take away my toilet tissue. I had to use my underwear instead, but that was subsequently taken away. I had no choice but to use the prison uniform issued by the labour camp to clean myself, but even that was later taken away. I was also not allowed to take a shower. Eventually, I was not allowed to use the toilet. One day instructor Chen Dong took away my toilet receptacle and forced me to sit with a full bladder until dawn. Three inmates took turns monitoring me around the clock. Yu Aiqiong took my urine-stained towel and stuffed it into my mouth. -
In Persecuting Good People, the Authorities Break the Law and Try to Extort Funds from Their Victims
2012-07-17On the morning of May 21st, 2012, police arrested Ms. Zhang Huimin and Ms. Deng Gezi, two Falun Gong practitioners from Gutouzhuang Village in Xiong County, Hebei Province, and took them to the station. That afternoon the women were transferred to the the Anxin County Detention Centre. Shortly afterward police took Ms. Zhang and Ms. Deng to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp. All the officers accompanied the practitioners, because they intended to divide the bonus money. It had been announced that, for each practitioner sentenced to forced labour, the participants would receive 30,000 yuan. -
Attorney Enters a Not-Guilty Plea in the Appeal Case of Ms. Jin Yijun from Lanzhou City
2012-07-17Ms. Jin Yijun, a law professional from Lanzhou City, was arrested on December 7th, 2011, and sentenced to one year of forced labour for practising Falun Gong. Her family filed several appeals to secure her release. The Chengguan District Court accepted their case and held a hearing on June 7th, 2012, at the Gansu Province Women's Forced Labour Camp, where Ms. Jin has been detained. Her attorney entered a not-guilty plea on her behalf, but the judge adjourned the session without issuing a verdict. -
Mr. Li Lankui Arrested in Zhengding County, Hebei Province; Villagers Stand Up to Police
2012-07-17On June 1st, at around 6 o'clock in the morning, more than 20 police officers from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrived in four police cars to break into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Lankui's home. Since Mr. Li was not home at the time, his family was forced to lead the police to look for him. They ran into Mr. Li on the way and the police tried to force him to sign paperwork on the spot. Mr. Li told them sternly, “Falun Gong is good!” The neighbours couldn't just stand aside. Instead, they surrounded the police officers and tried to reason with them, “Mr. Li is not stealing from or robbing anybody. He is very fair and kind in doing business. Why do you guys keep on harassing such a good person?”
