Here I would like to remind fellow practitioners that whenever our hearts are impure, we must look within ourselves for the causes, be strict with our thoughts and behaviour, and not let our righteous thoughts falter even a bit. At the same time, we need to understand that only through improving our xinxing [moral character, heart-mind nature] fundamentally can we validate Dafa and help save more sentient beings. Avoiding tribulations alone cannot be our motivation for improving xinxing.

In the past I had taken part in a discussion with some of my fellow practitioners about using the metaphor of “forging Iron Ore into 100% pure Iron Ore’s. Forging Iron Ore into 99% purity is a very involved, difficult and trying process. Yet forging the last 1% to make complete 100% purity is harder then forging the previous 99%. It is said to be quite to be a difficult process. This sentiment was shared amongst practitioners in the past as we felt each new level’s higher requirement on us getting more and more difficult.

Always when I read Zhuan Falun, I had a feeling of relief and lightness and I wanted to learn more. I didn’t read anything else than Falun Gong and Zhuan Falun. MY understanding of myself and the world changed a lot, and I noticed more clearly my own shortcomings and weaknesses. The sense of right and wrong, good and bad became much more clear as I read Zhuan Falun again and again. I knew in my heart that this was the only way in the world today to go back to one's origin.

Clarifying the truth to the Chinese is a really important area of Dafa work, but I rarely had the chance to talk to everyday Chinese people face to face. Whilst I had no problem with handing out fliers, I didn’t feel particularly comfortable about approaching Chinese strangers in the street and attempting to start a conversation about Falun Gong. I would prefer to introduce the subject within a context that felt more natural.

July 20 of four years ago is a day we will never forget. On that day, the evil Chinese government started its brutal and bloody persecution against Falun Gong. The dark clouds were overwhelming when the storm came. On that day, Dafa disciples across North America came to Washington DC. They gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy and on the grass in front of Capitol Hill. They stood shoulder to shoulder under the shining sun.

A man approached me and told me in an enthusiastic tone, “It is really a surprise to me. I have been walking behind you for a while. I noticed that you were in a hurry. Instead of spitting the gum on the pavement, however, you walked for a long distance to spit it (out into a rubbish bin). Why did you do so?” I smiled and explained to him that I am a Falun Gong practitioner, that we always use Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the principles of the cosmos, to guide our morality.

Zhuan Falun is the book that systematically explains how to cultivate ourselves. In order to get rid of all sorts of attachments, we need to continually study Zhuan Falun so we can use the standards of the Fa to judge ourselves, to expose our shortcomings, and to improve our xinxing as a whole. So, we must focus our Fa-study on Zhuan Falun if we want to steadily and rapidly make progress in our cultivation.

I clarified the facts to him and said; "Everything is fine, and I don't need to go to the hospital. I am a Falun Gong practitioner. This is actually a stroke of luck. Do you know Falun Gong?' He replied, 'I do. My family received truth clarification literature, but I've never read it.' I told him, 'That's a shame. Falun Gong teaches people to exercise compassion. You know the severity of today's accident, but I won't take your money or compensation. Our Master teaches us to consider others at all times. I only want you to bear in mind the words of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance), and that Falun Dafa is good..."

In order to help end this inhumane, malicious and evil persecution sooner, to help more people learn the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution, and to frighten the old forces and make them see that their evil persecution will eventually end up in failure, on July 18th, all practitioners in our local area, as one body, courageously stepped forward. This is another action to validate Dafa as one body following the previous action on February 4, 2002 for our local "Falun Dafa Day."

The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

It is treated as understandable that so many nice citizens are locked up in prison and suffering from cruel torture, some of them having even lost their lives. People are so insensitive and cold as long as they are not involved. When everything falls within the excuse of “for the need of obeying politics” and “for the need of power”, the general public can only yield to authority however low the morals of a man in power; or it is said to be “against the government” or “making trouble with the government”. Thus, the man in power can start a fight using every possible method. When people accept such things, people’s hearts have already been deeply hurt. It is because what people have lost at this time is the root nature of benevolence, and justice.

With our children's improvement in Fa study, their Xinxing [heart nature] dramatically improved at the same time. They participated in lots of spreading Fa and clarifying truth activities with their pure hearts. Now the boys study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts everyday, and also share some truth-clarifying work.

When I made progress and became experienced in clarifying the truth, then my attachment to complacency would pop up. On top of all this, I had such a slack demand on myself, and easily forgave my shortcomings, which made each of my remaining attachments become a stumbling block to my progress. Looking back, I felt my cultivation path was not solid and steady.

Dafa practitioners are very busy. We feel that there is not enough time to do what we want to do. But we still need to practice the Falun Gong exercises. If each of the Dafa practitioners overseas could practise Falun Gong at a tourist location once or twice a week, the tourists who see Falun Gong may tell their friends and relatives back home about what they saw, thus taking with them the truth about Falun Dafa to various parts of the world. If we practise Falun Gong outdoors in public, the predestined people will definitely be led to us.

The Chinese Communist Party's control of all media created quite a stir in the case of some panhandlers that were murdered in Zhejiang Province. Once again, the authorities manipulated a mental patient, the homicide suspect, Chen Fuzhao, to fabricate lies claiming his involvement with Falun Gong. On the Party's anniversary at the beginning of July, Xinhua News Agency highlighted the murder story, which was ridiculed by readers and viewers around the country right way due to its self-contradictions. A few days ago CCTV's "Focus Topic" program also aired its own version of the homicide case that was completely different from that of Xinhua News Agency. Compared with the previous one, the updated version is even more absurd.

Recently, practitioners have fully realised the importance of pushing forward the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the rescue activities, and other Dafa work. It is one of the requirements of the Fa-rectification for Dafa practitioners to do well in these things. I would like to discuss the matter from another perspective. If there is anything inappropriate, please kindly point it out and correct me.

Every Dafa practitioner upholds righteous thoughts in his mind with dignity. But we must recognise that our understanding of Dafa is gradually increasing during our process of cultivation and during our process of validating Dafa. Non-practitioners may misunderstand some topics that practitioners understand; they may even feel shocked. In addition, Jiang's regime has sent many special agents abroad to persecute Dafa. Therefore, we should take responsibility for our fellow practitioners, for the people, and for Dafa. We should seriously pay attention to communication security.

Gods offered Chinese people the supplementary methods of culture and cultivation—qin, “go,” calligraphy and painting. Qin makes people feel pleasant and harmonious; “go” enables people to stay calm and rational; calligraphy gives people solemnity and steadiness; painting makes people worship Gods and Buddha since ancient paintings were mostly in the image of Buddha, Tao, and God. That is, qin, “go,” calligraphy and painting can contribute to one’s inner tranquility, provide mental relaxation, open up one’s wisdom, and teach humans moral lessons.

Falun Dafa practitioners all over the world will continue to follow Master closely in the process of Fa-rectification. They will become more peaceful, more rational, and more indomitable. They will resist and eliminate the evils with righteous thoughts and righteous behaviours. They will expose the evils' lies and put out the intense flames. They will bring truth and happiness to the people of the world.

It has been four years. Falun Gong practitioners worldwide will tell people the facts compassionately and with forbearance. Hopefully people will not be blind to the truth and will return to “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” Falun Gong practitioners’ steadfast determination and belief have earned them support and respect from worldwide citizens. Jiang Zemin on the other hand, will be brought to justice because of his bloody persecution of Falun Gong. Chinese people, please seize this precious opportunity. Don’t be bullied again by the evil forces.

For example, one time, a policeman who was poisoned deeply yelled on the line with irresponsible words, “Falun Gong is… I witnessed them kill their wife, mother, and children…” I interrupted him at once, and seriously told him, “Please say things with your conscience. God is watching. Are you sure what you have said are facts? Who does not have parents and siblings? Who does not have a spouse and children? You really should be responsible for what you say.” My tone was sincere and filled with mighty virtue. At that time, he fell in silence. Therefore, before the field of righteous thoughts, lies are fragile and easily exposed.

Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced karmic retribution as punishment. If it weren't for Jiang's wicked orders, perhaps their fates would have been different.

History has witnessed the wicked orders to begin the persecution. History has witnessed the large-scale arrests in the early morning of July 20, 1999. History has witnessed how thousands of Dafa practitioners walked selflessly and fearlessly to Beijing after "July 20th" just to speak the truth: "The persecution is wrong, Falun Dafa is Good!"

"In our hometown we heard that Falun Dafa practitioners came to Beijing without food and water, staying on the streets...We felt very uneasy and anxious in our hearts. After some discussion, we collected all the apples in the family garden and bought instant noodles with all the money we had...We were on the train for many days thinking that you all have nothing to eat and drink in Beijing. We wished we could arrive in Beijing immediately. Right after we got off the train today, we stored two of our backpacks of noodles and apples in the storage department of the train station and carried the rest here."

An enlightened being's heart can assimilate everything and encompasses everything. This is the Fa's requirement and standard for all beings. When we completely want to treat someone well from the bottom of our heart, words cannot describe how happy and fortunate we are; that is the state of pureness and clarity and it is also the state of eternity and unselfishness; it is the intelligence that can understand everything and also the capacity of being able to accept all living beings.

For Dafa practitioners who are determined to save more people, there is nothing to fear about Article 23. On the other hand, this is a great opportunity to clarify the truth on a worldwide scale. When there are changes on the surface, we should settle down and see that it is Dafa disciples' righteous thoughts and righteous acts that are making efforts.

In fact, when we encounter conflicts in our cultivation practice, it is the best opportunity for us to study the Fa more diligently and to look within ourselves. This will help us to get rid of our bad thoughts, and human attachments. If we can truly understand the Fa from the perspective of the Fa, and regard the Fa as Teacher, we can upgrade ourselves and do well in our cultivation practice.

What makes human beings human is their moral standard. If humans do not observe the human moral standard, there is no difference between humans and animals. We often refer to wicked people as “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”. We do not mean that their appearance is not human, but rather that they are morally degenerated, or they have done what humans are not supposed to do. If they do something offensive to God and reason, they would even be inferior to animals. Thus they would be referred to as the most evil beings, and what is ahead of them is absolute destruction.

My recent comprehension is that we should not indulge ourselves in doing things. We should remain capable of putting down Dafa’s work so that our mind and body are in a good cultivation state. Every time when my Fa study is insufficient, I can distinctly feel my body becomes heavy, lazy, short of energy, and gets tired very easily. As soon as I calm down and study a lecture of Zhuan Falun, I will feel my body is full of dense energy, and my mind becomes awakened.

Therefore, for practitioners in UK to do things as one body, every practitioner has the responsibility to think about one question before acting: whether our act is beneficial for UK as one body to help Fa-rectification? This should be the starting point for all of our missions. We should always put being one body in the first place.

No matter whether it is from the viewpoints of everyday people or from the viewpoints of Dafa practitioners who are validating the Fa, what we do has nothing that can be blamed. The methods we use are peaceful, legal and kind. We just want to have basic human rights. But in China, the citizens there are forced to become obedient through all political campaigns; in their minds they have neither ideas nor wishes to ask for human rights. The most stupid are those who are still ignorant enough to identify with the government’s violations of human rights.

'I arrived in Ottawa early in the morning. While I stood in the pouring rain with my fellow practitioners holding a poster board on Parliament Hill, my heart was particularly calm and steadfast. I knew that no matter how the wind and clouds changed and no matter how inclement the weather, the evils was lingering on in a steady decline, with no roots.'

Regardless if it is during individual cultivation or cultivation within Fa-rectification, it is not always easy to see one's true state of mind by looking at superficial appearances, and a person's superficial appearance can often mislead others.

Practitioners who took the trip to Beijing got through all kinds of obstacles. Among them there were workers, farmers, teachers, students, self-employed and government personnel. There were also housewives, elderly people and children. Some practitioners came out as whole families. It was truly from their hearts that they wanted to tell the government what they had experienced from practising Falun Dafa and Falun Dafa's enormously positive impact. It was a dark night, and what was awaiting this group of fearless people was a fierce storm soon to come.

The current lawsuit against dictator Jiang provides a good opportunity for us to draw lessons from the past, to cultivate and improve ourselves and to validate the Fa. We must not allow the old forces to take advantage of our gaps anymore. When we are able to clarify the truth with pure hearts, and when people have righteous hearts, everyday people will naturally do things with justice; otherwise it won't work and will bring about the opposite result.

One day after supper, I thought I should escape from this hell on earth. That night at 1:00 a.m., it was raining lightly outside, and the guards were sleeping. I went to the second floor and jumped out. At that moment, fear appeared in my mind, which caused a problem that should not have happened. My cervical vertebra jammed into my neck and my head could not move. My lumbar vertebra was broken and out of place, and I could not move my body. In that situation, a miracle happened, my head became moveable and I stood up by supporting my body with my hands. Walking and crawling, I escaped from that place.

Although Chen Mingxian's term in the labour camp had been illegally extended for half a year, he finally walked out of the labour camp with a righteous and dignified smile on his face. The Head of the "Education Through Labour Division," Chen Kaiyi admitted: "People like Chen Mingxian and Zou Xiangyang would not be reformed even if you detained them for ten more years. This is because they do not have doubts about Falun Dafa and just firmly believe in it!"

After reading two books written by advocates of democracy, I was unable to calm my mind down when sending forth righteous thoughts. If we want to spread the Fa or clarify the truth in ordinary people’s form, we need to study the Fa more attentively with a peaceful mind every day and purify ourselves with Dafa.

Why do people reach different conclusions for the same event? It is because people lack benevolence. They always see other peoples' bad side and seldom see their good side. But Dafa practitioners, who cultivate benevolence, always have compassion in their hearts, and always use their eyes of wisdom and heart of benevolence to discover other peoples' good sides. So they arrive at different conclusions.

"Letters to Editors" undoubtedly supply a very effective and feasible way for overseas practitioners to clarify the truth...We should make full use of this ready-made channel, which is free, saves time, and is widespread for minimal efforts. Additionally, those who read the "Letters to Editors", are often concerned with some issues, and would really like to know more or even play some role, making "Letters to Editors" highly effective.

We cannot do things with the heart of seeking some achievement, and only emphasis the result of signature collecting. If we cannot clarify the truth with a pure hearts, we will do so in vain and lose the chance. A person who knows the truth is a seed of knowledge and will spread the truth to more people.

The solemn and benevolent Falun Gong appeal of that winter moved the hearts of those who passed by. Many of them pulled over on purpose to approach us for the truth of Falun Gong. Among them there was a Western girl who came on a cold winter night with 9 large red apples for the elderly practitioner on site, those who showed great concerns for us, a mayor's candidate who brought a bowl of hot noodles, those who brought us hot coffee, university students who came for a survey, mainstream journalists, and countless people who simply beeped the horn to show their support.

In relation to the lawsuit against the evil head and "610 Office," we have yet to meet the requirement for a "large-scale, comprehensive, and detailed clarification of the truth." At the same time, there are many other things in Fa rectification that need to be completed in an orderly fashion, and which can only be carried out by Dafa practitioners. Let us all keep Teacher's words in mind: "Do but pursue not, constantly dwelling in the Dao" (Hongyin -- in the Dao).

In an article published on the Clearwisdom website, a policeman who beat people fiercely was interrogating an elderly Dafa practitioner who went to peacefully appeal in Beijing. The policeman, who had become so accustomed to beating people, was about to beat up the old lady. But the compassionate and dignified manner of this old lady made him check himself subconsciously. His fierce and brutal manner disappeared. He even forgot to curse...

Until recently I did not pay much attention to the process of lawsuits as I was not aware of it being an area in need of Fa-rectification. Of course, it is an activity for ordinary people and very meaningful for them. People can see Jiang’s evil more thoroughly in this, build up a sense of justice, and have a further understanding of Dafa. Now, I realise that the present lawsuit against Jiang is very important.

At times, our understanding of Fa-rectification has also mixed in many human notions, thinking that the three things Master has repeatedly told us to do well only means how many times we have read the book, how many times a day we have sent forth righteous thoughts and how many materials we have distributed. Of course, we should meet the requirements in doing these things.
