In the end, two envelopes for each class were sent out. Afterwards, Xiao Jie received the packages and brought them to school for her classmates to read. The colourful truth-clarifying materials easily attracted the students. Many students would gather around to read them. They were able to gain a good understanding about Falun Dafa. One student said, "Wow! There are also so many people practising Falun Gong overseas!"

I participated in activities to help stop the persecution, yet I didn't make diligent advancement in studying the teachings of Falun Gong and the practice, nor did I have a chance to really practice and share experiences with other practitioners in a group. Lacking a solid foundation in my cultivation, I only had a surface understanding of Dafa and Master. Hence I gave in to the police fearing that they might extend my detention terms.

However, I have noticed a phenomenon: some practitioners mix the concept of "no organisation, no leaders" with the bad behaviour of not following rules and not obeying leaders' orders in everyday society. In some Dafa activities, these practitioners are self-opinionated and even resist the coordinator's advice by using ordinary people's tactics.

My story here is very simple, however, it was not an easy thing for her. Thinking about it, I felt that I was far from having her righteous thoughts and actions. I believe that if each one of us can always remember Master's teaching, pay attention to fellow practitioners with our hearts, and give a hand to anyone who falls behind, our environment will become better and better when our righteous thoughts are stronger.

They interfere by strengthening these practitioners' attachments, and eventually they take control of them. From the perspective of the surface dimension, for those practitioners who had omissions in these two areas, some of them gave up their practice after the persecution began in July 20th of 1999, and some, although they came through the persecution after nearly dying several times, finally failed in the test of ordinary people's fame, pursuits, and emotion, and could not extricate themselves from it.

It was then that I noticed his blue shirt and black tie when I asked him if by any chance he was a member of the Garda Siochana ( the Irish police). His face beamed, "Indeed I am and it was while on duty in Tullamore a few months ago during the Foreign Ministers' conference that I was assigned to keep watch on Falun Gong." He went on to say that he was most impressed by the peaceful nature of the practitioners and the beauty of the exercises were a revelation to him, particularly the small boy who became so still like something from Heaven

I heard the shooting incident scared some new practitioners and practitioners who didn't study the Fa well, because they think the persecution has escalated abroad. In fact, Jiang's group would have made a grave mistake if they had planned to escalate the persecution. It is impossible to achieve this and will only speed up their own destruction. The more crimes they commit, the more they will reveal themselves.

Everyone is familiar with this phrase, but some practitioners do not really know how we can be serious. I think that in our cultivation we should be strict with ourselves in accordance with the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." We have to check whether or not we tell the truth and do truthful deeds, if we mix selfish motives in with our speech, if we consider others when we speak, as well as if our words are kind and compassionate or ill-willed.

In fact, Master had already suggested that we memorise the book. I felt deep regret for not listening to Master in the beginning. If all practitioners in Mainland China had listened to Master--did what Master asked us to do, memorised the Dafa book and laid a solid foundation--could we still not know what to do when the persecution started? Could we not remember Master and Dafa when we were arrested, beaten and tortured, instead of only focusing on our physical suffering?

When a project needs to be done, we usually first ask for help from those practitioners who are more active. However, once these practitioners take over the project, they may have to set aside the projects they have been doing. A better way is to encourage more practitioners to participate; otherwise, when a new project takes off, an on-going project will stop. On the whole, their may be little overall gain.

Many Falun Dafa practitioners in Beijing were fortunate enough to attend the classes Master gave, where he personally lectured and taught the exercises. In these classes, every disciple's body was purified and their thoughts were improved. During that period, we experienced, learned, and heard many stories regarding Master. Some stories seem like legends when told, but all of them are real.

As I was wondering what had happened, an older man beside me said: "I'm sorry. Somebody stepped on my foot. When I lifted my foot, I kicked you accidentally." I hastened to say: "Don't worry. Don't worry. You didn't kick me for no reason, right?" He looked at me with his eyes wide open. I told him close to his ear: "This is forming our karmic relationship." Then I gave him a booklet about Falun Dafa and told him that he would benefit from it when he read it. He was quite happy and thanked me several times.

Calling people who are involved in the persecution is different from calling the general public. In the past, I worried that people might think I was strange. At the beginning, I preferred to have no one around when I made phone calls, even though my husband is also a practitioner. Then I realised I had the attachment of fear. I was afraid that the person at the other end would hang up on me or I could not convince people with my words. So I decided to change this situation.

Several cultivators were cultivating in the same Taoist temple then. There was another cultivator among us who loved you and bared his heart to you one day, but you rejected him. He knew that you were in love with me, so jealousy made him hate both of us. He said bitterly at that time, ‘So, you want to cultivate! I will stop you from reaching Consummation even if it will cost my life!’

Finally I realised my problem: I tried to persuade fellow practitioners not to go out, because I was afraid of being involved if something happened to the fellow practitioner. Actually I do have the mentality of fear. The only thing is that when a fellow practitioner pointed it out, her tone was not so kind, so I did not want to change myself. Then I thought: if Teacher had said this to me, would I listen and change myself? Of course I would. At this point, my mind became more peaceful.

It does not matter whether other people have cultivated well or not. Even when a child points out our shortcomings, we should look inward. It does not matter whether other people talk with strong attachments to fame and self-interest or not, as long as we are not 100% pure, we should look inward. Looking inward is unconditional, just as cultivation itself.

For over a year ago now we have had a project in Austria called “The Newsletter.” It is a monthly media publication, primarily meant as a continual information about all aspects of Falun Gong for politicians, journalists and other interested individuals. Beyond that it is primarily an endeavour by which a larger number of practitioners in Austria can work together in a never seizing project.

One day when I was sending righteous thoughts and trying to calm my mind, one thought just kept rising. It was like a dialogue with me, talking with myself. I was telling me to go to the hospital, to stores, to different places to clarify the truth, I even spoke about what to say. It was strange. But I didn't take that seriously and I was just kept holding on to my pitiful excuse. I wasn't feeling good inside. It was like a war was going on within me. I didn't want to wait but I did.

In the very eventful year of 2002 there was a state visit from China, through which the German government, our authorities and our police permitted to be put so much under pressure that several illegal measures against practitioners were taken by the police. This happened in Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden and Goslar, without ourselves at that time being clear right away on the issue which proceeded to follow. We thought about how we should react to this situation.

I realised that I had completely missed a sentence or I had memorised a sentence incorrectly. I realised it was because I didn't have a calm mind and couldn't concentrate enough. I then concentrated with all my effort on the book. I tried to memorise word-by-word, sentence-by-sentence. Those words would then appear in front of me clearly. When I recited sentence after sentence with a quiet mind, it seemed I had purged many attachments and passed a barrier.

I met my daughter’s tutors to see how she was doing at school, and wanted to use this opportunity to clarify the truth to her two tutors. They signed the petition immediately after they had learnt about the truth. For their interest, I also brought forward the idea of giving an introduction to Chinese culture at the school, including Falun Gong and human right status in China. Both tutors agreed that it was a great idea, afterwards they contacted me to make an arrangement.

One day I sent a heartfelt prayer into the universe, to be given directions as to what to practice and how to improve myself. Three days later I found a Falun Gong leaflet in my mailbox. I was somewhat surprised that my prayer was answered so quickly. I read the leaflet from back to front. When I finished reading it became clear to me that Falun Gong is everything I had been searching for.

When I clarified the truth to my relatives, friends, and colleagues, I just casually talked about it, and then I gave them a book and a few VCD's. I even felt complacent and pleased with myself. I calculated that I had clarified the truth to this many people yesterday and that many today. I didn't know whether they understood or not and whether they had read the book or not, or even watched the VCD's. I didn't know whether they had any misunderstandings that couldn't be resolved. When I asked them after a long time, I found out that they neither read the book nor watched the VCD's. I didn't achieve the effect of saving the sentient beings at all.

Before writing this letter, the first obstacle was fear. I was afraid of running into trouble, revealing my identity to them, and being implicated. The second obstacle was laziness. Even if I had quite a bit of time, I still didn't want to start writing. Later, I intensified my study of the Falun Gong teachings and realised that it was still my attachment to "fear" that was affecting me.

I often notice that once the words are released from my mouth, it is very difficult to take them back. Although I say things without intention, an ordinary person still listens very closely. Therefore, minding our speech is very difficult. One day during studying, I was struck by Teacher's words, "You know, Buddhas don't speak frivolously." (Zhuan Falun - a book containing the principle teachings of Falun Gong). I suddenly realised that as a cultivator I should not confuse myself with an everyday person and talk without purpose.

We are practitioners. No matter how high we can enlighten and how well we do, what we have is just a bit of understanding at one level. What excuses can we have to be arrogant and conceited in front of our merciful Master and all the suffering lives? Fellow practitioners who have such attachments should determine to strive forward. If we cling to our personal attachments and bad notions, we will drive ourselves further away from the Fa.

Those people as well as the journalists inquired, what is going on here, since they had observed the attitude of the Chinese people who were present. What a wonderful opportunity to explain the truth to them! They understood quickly. Many expressed their annoyance at the Chinese people’s rude behavior and then wanted to know what Falun Gong is all about.

Shortly after that I received an e-mail from a colleague about an international qigong website. There I found Falun Dafa. I surfed through the site and opened “Essentials for Further Advancement”. I started to read and I was literally glued to the screen. So many wise words, such a noble spirit! You don’t run into this every day. My actions were automatic and I thirsted for more. As I was afraid of loosing the website or that my computer would fail, I immediately printed all forty six pages.

Just after hearing the news that we were not allowed to display our banner, I thought that we must at least try again: this is the banner that the evil is most afraid of, and we must display it; this banner was allowed to display in other countries and other German cities; why not in Munich? I went to see the relevant people in the city administration council and hoped that they would approve our request. But they firmly refused my request and said that if I don’t agree with their decision, they would cancel permission for all our activities.

Nothing in the world is really difficult or insurmountable. Once I understood that “every cause had an effect” or everything has two sides, my voice sounded as if I had practised for several hours daily. I suddenly recognised the importance and seriousness of my profession. I no longer held so many thoughts about my profession being a job or something artistic. Now I have to let go of the attachment to fame and wealth and let my music and art find its right place in my life. I now know that I will be fine in my job search.

Through sharing understandings of the Fa together, practitioners reached a common understanding: this unjustifiable treatment of Falun Gong practitioners is not just an injustice between ordinary people, but is the evil’s deliberate action against Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Our lawsuit is not against anyone, but we hope that through this lawsuit more people can learn the truth thereby see through the evil’s lies.

Our 24-hour peaceful appeal outside the Chinese Embassy in London has been maintained for more than two years now. In the 700 days and nights, we have undergone spring, summer, autumn, winter, wind, frost, rain, snow and furthermore experienced tests and improvements in many ways in Fa-rectification cultivation. I, on behalf of all UK disciples who have joined the appeal outside the London Chinese Embassy, will share our experiences with everyone.

We need to be more conscientious and make more efforts in order to know how to exhibit the magnificence of Dafa practitioners, which is above that of ordinary people, in western society that values the surface culture. In a civilised society, many things are believed to be minimal requirements that the public has acknowledged for a civilised person. A person who fails to do well in the following criteria would be looked down upon by others.

During my cultivation, I found that if I had pursuit in mind while trying to get rid of an attachment and cultivate myself, it would be difficult for me to progress forward on the issue. In other words, my cultivation would stagnate if I was pursuing something while trying to discard an attachment; the attachment would remain for a long time and I would be unable to progress in my cultivation diligently.

It takes only a few days before the patient report improvement. For example the itching in their legs disappear, they are able to sleep much better, can cope better with stress and have more energy and love for life. They even disclosed that they are able to bear the following day the therapy at the clinic with much more ease. They enjoy the harmonic environment as after the exercises we have an exchange of ideas. The patients have a hard time understanding the brutal persecution. Also, many of them had not heard of Falun Gong.

Once I got to the meeting, I still could not approach anyone and was overwhelmed by the fear that someone would ask me to leave because I was a Falun Gong practitioner. I tried to overcome this feeling. The thought popped into my head that I should go back home to study more because my current state of mind was not righteous and I could cause damage. But then it hit me as I got up to leave and started walking toward the exit that this meeting was a precious arrangement for lawyers and judges to deeply understand the truth, and it is so critical to reach them at this stage of Fa-rectification.

The forms of manifestation are diverse. Some always love to flaunt their past brilliant achievements. Others profess to be above worldly considerations, are arrogant and do not listen to different opinions. Some justify their attachments with human logic. I personally think such notions have already hindered their improvement.

Without doubt, those who have gone astray have brought great losses to Dafa. They even repaid our kindness with enmity and obstinately followed the wrong path. But, as practitioners we live by the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, which asks of us to be compassionate towards others, and therefore, we must continue to still be rational in how we treat such people.

While I was talking, from my heart, I hoped they could know the truth and therefore make the right decision, not for myself but for their own future. After listening to my words, they not only helped me with getting a legal residence, but also kindly helped to find free accommodation for me. By clarifying the truth this time, I came to realise that when we sincerely hope other people to be good and think about others with a compassionate heart, the result would turn out to be good. This is because practitioners’ righteous thoughts are very powerful.

This misunderstanding comes from not studying the Fa well, which manifests as the frequent questioning of Dafa and causes the inability to righteously enlighten. When tribulations come, we don't look inside ourselves, and yet, we still expect miracles to occur. Since the book exists in an ordinary form--black letters on white paper--we erroneously think that Dafa is indeed a theory of the ordinary world.

"The task is required by the County Education Bureau. They told us to show videos to students slandering Dafa as opposing 'superstition.' They will inspect what we are doing." Upon hearing this, I explained to him the possible negative results. I asked him not to do this out of incorrect thinking since this could lead to more than 1,000 teachers and students being poisoned and harmed, and himself being a historical criminal. He sighed and said, "I have to carry out the orders from those above me. There are no alternatives."

After the experience sharing, I learned that many practitioners in Qinhuangdao had done a lot to clarify the truth. Their strong determination and faith in Dafa moved me deeply. They had suffered from all kinds of persecution. Some of them were arrested on their way to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa, and they were beaten and detained; some were placed under high-alert surveillance; some were threatened with being dismissed from their jobs. However, facing all kinds of persecution, their determination in Dafa was not shaken.

I realised that what I heard in the past few days had been mentioned by Master in the Fa. What Master has taught our Dafa practitioners are not limited to just these things! It looked like my effort in studying the Fa was not enough, thus at a crucial moment, I took a detour and wasted quite some time, and was not able to directly receive enlightenment from what has been taught to us by Master in the Fa. It might also have to do with the issue of being firm in one's belief. Master has told us that the test in this aspect will always exist until the end of cultivation.

.When some practitioners worked together for a while, they would develop feelings for each other and would be reluctant to part with one another. I feel that other than sharing understandings of the Fa and cooperating with one another in our work, there should not be any personal relationships among practitioners. A true cultivator should not confine him/herself to such a narrow frame of mind and treat fellow practitioners differently, treating this one well, not the others, or being closer with this one and not the others.

The second day I went out to practice, I really felt I was practising here and doing exactly what my fellow practitioners in China are suffering for the right do to. It is this exact environment to be able to practice and cultivate openly and freely that we are all working so hard to restore. Practising outside felt like a way of denying the persecution. It was the first time that I remember feeling so close to the practitioners in China, and I truly sensed that we are all one body that morning.

Being truthful does not exclude controlling my tongue and does not give me license to be rude and unfeeling toward others. Being compassionate and patient, even with nosey or boring people is also “doing the right thing.” As in all uncomfortable situations, injecting a bit of humour or lightheartedness into a potentially confrontational encounter always helps a great deal.

Recently, symptoms of "illness karma" appeared amongst my fellow practitioners, including myself. There were two severe cases, of which one had to stay in the hospital, while the other, after going to the hospital and having a needle inserted, nearly lost his life. I will discuss these cases based on my current understanding.

The place for the first class in Jinan City was the small auditorium of the Shandong Young Cadres' College, on Jingshi Road in the Lixia District. There were several hundred people who attended. According to some practitioners, this was the smallest class Teacher had ever taught. However, Teacher did the same thing as he did for the other classes. He gave nine lectures in nine consecutive days and the tenth day was for answering questions. The classes ran for two hours per day and the fee was only fifty yuan for the whole lecture series.

We have frequently been in front of the consulate over the past four years, which has more or less brought some inconvenience to the neighbourhood. Therefore, we decided to do something for the neighbours of the consulate. Many elderly practitioners were personally involved in making the paper lotus flowers. Through making and unfolding the flowers for an extended time, however, some practitioners' fingers hurt so much that they could not even button their clothes. Never before have I realised that the lotus flowers are so beautiful.

One day when I erected my hand to send forth righteous thoughts, I felt deep in my mind that sending forth righteous thoughts is a manifestation of Teacher's boundless trust in Dafa practitioners. Teacher bestowed this responsibility on practitioners! An extremely sacred and dignified power filled my heart. Yes, I thought, isn't Teacher's trust the most compassionate power bestowed on us and the most sacred praise? What excuses do we have to keep us from being diligent?
