Hebei Province: Three Practitioners Detained in Sanhe City

On July 25th, 2012, more than a dozen officers from the Sanhe Police Department, under the direction of deputy head of domestic security Jia Zhixue and police commissioner Qiao Chunjiang, raided the maternity shop owned by practitioners Mr. Xin Baodong and Ms. Gao Shuying, his wife. They arrested the couple and took them to Langfang Brainwashing Centre. An hour later, they ransacked the home of Ms. Xie Baofeng, a practitioner who worked at the maternity shop, and arrested her. Ms. Xie’s whereabouts is unknown. -
Lawyers Admonish the Judge in Court: Do Not Support the Communist Regime's Illegal Acts
2012-09-11On August 10th, the Zhengzhuangzi Central Court put four Falun Gong practitioners on trial. In court, lawyer Xie Yanyi pointed out that the police arrested Li Wendong first and then searched for evidence afterwards. Due to Li Wendong's personal belief, he has been detained for nearly six months. The lawyer asserted that the law must not be twisted around and used as a tool by a handful of officials to achieve their personal goals. The lives of innocent people can not be ruined in exchange for political power or to satisfy personal interests! ...and the judges should think rationally and not support the regime's illegal acts and the monumental debt it is accumulating. -
Older Mr. Li Hongkui Persecuted in Daqing Prison, Passes Away Just Before End of Prison Term
2012-09-07Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Hongkui was serving a seven-year prison term at the Daqing Prison. His term was to end on September 21st, 2012. However, he passed away on August 28th as a result of brutal persecution, just 20 days before his scheduled release. Mr. Li was 61 years old. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Li was arrested three times and sentenced to prison twice. In total, he spent ten years in prison and suffered torture. -
My Three Years of Suffering in a Labour Camp; Bearing Witness to Practitioner Mr. Chen Baoliang’s Death from Beating
2012-09-07My name is Wang Zhe. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999, I was arrested in November 1999 for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was subsequently imprisoned at Tianjin City’s Beichen Police Branch Office for one month. My workplace fired me after my release. On July 20th, 2001, police forcibly took me away from my new workplace. During my three years of forced labour, I witnessed the beating to death of practitioner Mr. Chen Baoliang in August 2002. -
Ms. Shang Shiying Severely Tortured in Hebei Women's Prison
2012-09-07Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shang Shiying was arrested on January 14th, 2010, and sentenced to three years in prison. She has been incarcerated in the Hebei Women's Prison, where she has been severely persecuted and tortured. Practitioners who refuse to give up their belief are subjected to various forms of torture, such as long-term sleep deprivation, solitary confinement, sitting on a small stool for long periods of time, standing without moving for long periods of time, not being allowed to talk to others, and beatings by prisoners instigated by the prison guards. -
Guangzhou Lawyer Mr. Zhu Yubiao Sent to Brainwashing Centre After Two Years in Prison
2012-09-07On August 18th, 2010, Guangzhou Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhu Yubiao was arrested at his home. He was sentenced to two years in prison and sent to the Beijiang Prison in Shaoguan. On August 17th, 2012, after serving two years in prison, Mr. Zhu should have been released, but instead the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) sent him to the Sanshui Brainwashing Centre. Mr. Zhu Yubiao is a lawyer of strong moral character, and often defends disadvantaged people either for very little money or for free. He has received coverage in the local media for his kind acts. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Zhu successively defended three Falun Gong practitioners who were arrested and tried. -
Ms. Li Xiurong from Jiamusi Tortured in Prison
2012-09-07Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Xiurong was sentenced to three years in prison in 2010. She has been detained in the Harbin Women's Prison in Heilongjiang Province. On August 13th, 2012, Ms. Li's family visited her and found her to be very thin. She also felt discomfort in her heart, had difficulty in breathing and had pain in her breast. In addition, she had blurred vision and impaired hearing. Grey hairs appeared in her black hair. -
Shanghai Computer Engineer Mr. Hou Junjie Tried, His Younger Brother Arrested for Hiring a Lawyer
2012-09-07Qingpu Court officials tried computer engineer Mr. Hou Junjie on August 20th, 2012. Mr. Hou's younger brother Mr. Hou Mengqiang was arrested for hiring a lawyer for his brother. Shanghai police made the arrest on August 23rd in Zhengzhou City. The court officials intended to hold a second court session, and told Mr. Hou Junjie's lawyer not to defend Mr. Hou in court. -
Former Lecturer at Shanghai Police College Mr. Liu Peng Shocked with Electric Batons at Tilanqiao Prison
2012-09-07Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Peng was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2008, and has been held in Tilan Prison in Shanghai. He has been subjected to severe physical abuse and torture. It has been learned that guard Wang Haocheng shocked Mr. Liu with electric batons for a long time. He deceived Mr. Liu's family many times, lying to them that Mr. Liu didn't want to see his family, and thus deprived his family of the right to visit him in prison. -
The Persecution Suffered by Mr. Lian Yikun Before His Death
2012-09-07Because of the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioner Mr. Lian Yikun was forced to become homeless for many years. He decided to return home to apply for an ID card on April 26th, 2012. However, he was arrested by the local police department and taken to Suihua Forced Labour Camp 15 days later. In just a little over a month, Mr. Lian died at the labour camp at the age of 39, apparently tortured to death. His family received the notification on July 14th and all they saw was his disfigured corpse covered with wounds and both legs broken. -
Mr. Sun Shaomin, 54, Passes Away After 13 Years of Abuse
2012-08-31Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Shaomin from Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province has been repeatedly arrested and detained during the past 13 years, and subjected to forced labour. He was sentenced to ten years in prison, where he was brutally tortured. He was mentally and physically worn down by the abuse and eventually passed away on May 29th, at the age of 54. -
Doctor Wu Qun Subjected to Severe Abuse in Yongchuan Prison and Denied Family Visits
2012-08-31Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Qun has been held in Yongchuan Prison since July 2011. He has been subjected to severe physical abuse and torture and denied family visits. When his uncle and aunt, who are in their 80s, and his relatives travelled to the prison which is located on a mountain on August 13th, 2012 to deliver money and daily necessities to Mr. Wu, the officials would not allow them to see him with the excuse that they are not immediate family members. -
Ms. Xiu Li Appeals Unjust Four-Year Sentence
2012-08-31On the morning of July 17th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiu Li from Guanghan City was sentenced to a four-and-a-half year prison term by the Jinniu District Court of Chengdu. Ms. Xiu believes that practising Falun Gong and explaining the facts about the persecution are not wrong or illegal, and she contends that she is not guilty of any crime. She expressed to the court that she will appeal to the Intermediate Court. -
Pingdu City Police Fabricates Evidence and Tries to Frame Wife of a Falun Gong Practitioner Facing Trial
2012-08-31Pingdu City Court officials informed Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Guangwei's family on July 21st, 2012 that a court hearing would be held on July 27th. Mr. Wang's family hired two lawyers from Beijing to enter a not-guilty plea for Mr. Wang, and at the same time, circulated a letter to the local people, inviting them to attend the court procedures. Pingdu 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Domestic Security Division officers were in a panic when they discovered this. They harassed and threatened those who had received the invitation. They also fabricated evidence against Ms. Sun Suling, wife of Mr. Wang Guangwei, and searched for her everywhere. -
Evil Deeds Committed by Chen Mingbo, Head of the 610 Office in Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province
2012-08-31On July 2nd, 2012 director of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) took Ms. He Guihong to the brainwashing centre. She was forced to stand for over 40 days. For 20 of those days, she had to stand for over 20 hours each day, causing severe swelling of her legs, to the point that she couldn't walk. Guards also tied her legs onto a bench with a cloth, her hands to the handle, her body to the back of the bench, and force-fed her for three consecutive days. They inserted a plastic tube into her mouth and nose and deliberately pulled it out repeatedly, causing a large amount of blood to come out of her nose. Her eyes were also bleeding. She was also shocked with an electric baton.
