Ms. Tang Wenyan Faces Trial in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province

On October 25th, 2009, Ms. Tang Wenyan, 41, was arrested by officers from Yantian Police Station because she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She was then sent to the Dongguang First Detention Centre. Since being detained, her family members haven't been allowed to visit. On February 22nd, 2010, the Dongguang Intermediate Court told Ms. Tang's family to get a lawyer for her because her case would be heard on March 3rd. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, Chinese Communist Party members tried to force her to give up practising Falun Gong, but to no avail. As a result, she was fired from her job. -
Four Falun Gong Practitioners from Changsha Recently Arrested
2010-03-25During two meetings of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), from March 2nd to 5th, 2010, four Falun Gong practitioners from Changsha were arrested. Several of their homes were inspected by community workers. Some of their places of employment were watched all day by community workers. They were also harassed by phone. Mr. Huang Yonghui has been detained multiple times. He can no longer work because he is physically disabled as a result of being beaten in Chishan Prison in Hunan Province. Mr. Liu Muyu was detained for 15 days in the Changsha Detention Centre in December 2009. -
Mr. Wang Jijun Is Secretly Transferred to Jidong Prison, Tangshan City
2010-03-24Mr. Wang Jijun is in his 40s. On September 7th, 2009, officers from the domestic security divisions of the Tangshan City Police Department and the Yuhe Police Department arrested him. He was tried on November 23rd, 2009, in the Yuhe District Court in Cangzhou City. His family hired a lawyer, who pleaded "not-guilty" on his behalf. Under the direction of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), the court sentenced Mr. Wang to four years in prison for possessing three Falun Gong CDs and five files on his computer. On March 3rd, 2010 without notifying his family, Mr. Wang was quietly transferred from the Cangzhou City Detention Centre to Jidong Prison, Tangshan City. -
Dehui City 610 Office Agents Arrest Several Falun Gong Practitioners
2010-03-24Four officers from the Chalukou Town Police Station went to the home of Mr. Ji Guoxiang on March 2nd, 2010. They attempted to arrest Mr. Ji, but he was able to escape. The police took away his Falun Gong books. Dehui City Police Department officers and those from the Chalukou Town Police Station have been constantly harassing and persecuting Mr. Ji since July 20th, 1999. Mr. Ji decided to live away from home, moving from place to place several times. This same group of officers next went to the home of Ms. Jiang Yaqin. They arrested her and confiscated her Falun Gong books and materials. -
Over Thirty Practitioners from Huantai County in Shandong Province Detained
2010-03-24On February 24th, 2010, right before the opening of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) National People's Congress (NPC) and Political Consultative Conference, the Zibo City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Huantai County 610 Office arrested Falun Gong practitioners and ransacked their homes in Huantai County. Some practitioners are being detained at the Houbu Village Brainwashing Centre. In 2001, police put Mr. Li Yuxiang into a forced labour camp for three years, and his daughter, Li Cong, was also sent to forced labour for three years. The Zhangjiadian District Court of Zibo City sentenced his son, Li Shusen, to eleven years and incarcerated him in the Shandong Provincial Prison for six years -
Mr. Zhang Beiqi from Jilin Province Arrested in Shandong Province After the Chinese New Year
2010-03-23On February 27th, 2010 Mr. Zhang Beiqi was arrested in his hometown in Shandong Province by police, because Mr. Zhang helped find an attorney to defend practitioner Li Fengyun. In the past 10 years, Mr. Zhang was detained for eight years at various places, including Yanji Labour Camp, Jiutai Labour Camp, Tonghua Labour Camp, Tiebei Prison in Changchun City, Jilin Prison, and others. Now he has been arrested once again. Du Peng defended Ms. Li Fengyun's right to practise Falun Gong. Ms. Li Fengyun also defended herself. After the court hearing, many people learned the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. -
Former President of Mingyuan Construction Research Institute Imprisoned
2010-03-23On August 2nd, 2007, Mr. Jiang Zonglin was arrested at his home by police officers from the Jinniu First Section and Fuqin Police Station. Mr. Jiang was taken to Jinniu and Xinlv Brainwashing Centre in Chengdu, and detained for nearly three months. During his detention, Mr. Jiang was subjected to interrogation by torture. In September and October 2008, Wuhou Court held trial on Mr. Jiang, and later sentenced him to five years of imprisonment. -
610 Office Intimidates High School Student for Telling Others How Falun Gong Healed His Fatal Illness
2010-03-22Sixteen year-old Qu Jianguo from Hebei Province wrote an article that was posted on the Clearwisdom.net website. In the article he disclosed that he was diagnosed with an advanced stage of bone cancer last year, and the doctor told him that there was no cure for the illness. He was nonetheless given a new lease on life after learning about and practising Falun Gong. Unexpectedly however, Baoding City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) agents saw the article on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) and ordered the Laishui County 610 Office and police department to "investigate" this matter at the school where Qu Jianguo studies. It was learned that Qu Jianguo and his family were intimidated by authorities. -
The Ten-Year Persecution of Ms. Chang Shige from Changchun
2010-03-22Ms. Chang Shige has endured inhumane torture countless times during the past ten years of the persecution. Now she has been forced to leave her family and move from place to place to avoid further persecution. She describes the persecution in Teibei Detention Centre: "Due to the poor ventilation, many of us developed a contagious eczema-like disease. It first started with tiny red itchy bumps, then festered, and finally decayed. Because there were too many people in the room, it was impossible to walk around or even to stand up. I spent most of the time in a sitting position. After one week, I was hardly able to walk. In order to force us to "transform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] the guards encouraged criminal offenders to beat us." -
Remembering Doctor Shen Yueping
2010-03-21Ms. Shen Yueping worked at the Maternity and Child Care Centre in Yunsi, Yunnan Province in July 2009. While at the Yunnan Second Women's Prison, her captors subjected her to excruciating torture that led to a perforated lung. She was then sent to the Kunming Third Hospital for treatment and died there. Ms. Shen treated people kindly. She lived a very simple life. She contributed silently to others and never showed off. I admired her wisdom and pure heart that were a result of Falun Gong cultivation. She often said, "We practitioners should be nice and cultivate our character according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance; we should become better people, not merely good people." -
Ms. Li Chunhong Arrested, Family Harassed and Tortured
2010-03-21Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Chunhong is imprisoned at the Tieling City Detention Centre. Over the past ten years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party, her family has been repeatedly harassed. Her father and sister were repeatedly tortured under the persecution, which resulted in her sister suffering from a mental disorder. In 2006, police arrested Ms. Li. The officers subjected her to more than an hour of electric shock. As a result, Ms. Li's face and mouth were burned and distorted. They then locked her into a metal cage. After being detained at the Kaiyuan City Detention Centre for 40 days, Ms. Li was imprisoned at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. -
Mudanjiang City Police Harass and Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners in the Name of the "Two Conferences"
2010-03-21Agents from the Mudanjiang City Political and Judiciary Committee and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) have been harassing and arresting Falun Gong practitioners in the name of the two high-level conferences for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They directed the police department's domestic security division, along with police stations, to make the arrests. Five practitioners were confirmed to have been arrested recently as a direct result. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Ying and Others Being Persecuted in Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp
2010-03-20Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp detains many Falun Gong practitioners. The guards torture them and force them to do labour. The ventilation in the workshops is poor. The glue they use is poisonous. The team leader wears an anti-poison respirator while Falun Gong practitioners wear ordinary white masks. Falun Gong practitioners are deprived of sleep over a long period of time. They only sleep for five and a half hours a day. They are forced to sit on small stools and are not allowed to talk to each other. They are restricted on the times to go to the toilet. They are forced to listen to recordings that slander Falun Gong; the recordings are played very loudly. Falun Gong practitioners are tortured physically and mentally. -
Two Female Falun Gong Practitioners in their 60s Arrested in Shenyang City
2010-03-20On the night of March 3rd, 2010, police arrested Ms. Peng Yujuan and Ms. Jin Yunzhi, in their 60s, as they distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and sent them to Shenyang City Detention Centre. It has been learned that Cai Tianzuo, head of the Domestic Security Division, is fabricating so-called "evidence," in an attempt to send the two ladies to the notorious Masanjia Labour Camp. -
Tianjin Detention Centre Force-feeds Practitioners Unknown Drugs
2010-03-18I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Tianjin. Police broke into my home on December 3rd, 2001. They arrested and took me to the Beichen District Detention Centre. I joined other practitioners held there in a persecution protest hunger strike on December 5th. The guards dragged me from the second floor to the ground floor and began force-feeding me. There was a large-size plastic bowl which contained unknown liquid drugs. The guards tied my arms and legs to a metal chair that had its base affixed to the ground. They grabbed my hair and pulled it so that my face was upward. Then, two women wearing white coats inserted a tube into my nose and began pouring whatever was in the bowl into my stomach through the tube. It felt awful. One of them said, "Don't even think about getting it out. The tube has reached the bottom of your stomach!"
