Xi'an Police Deceive Poet Mr. Tu Teng and Send Him to a Forced Labour Camp

Three Falun Gong practitioners—the chairman of the Chinese Laurel Poets Society in Xi'an City Mr. Tu Teng, Mr. Li Xiaohui, and Ms. Xie Jing—were arrested by police on August 13th, 2012, and have since been imprisoned at the Beilin District Detention Centre in Xi'an City. The Domestic Security Division of the Beilin District Police Department deceived them and sentenced them to forced labour. -
Older Ms. Gu Modi from Wuxi Arrested for the Ninth Time
2012-10-19Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gu Modi, over 60, was forcibly taken from her home for the ninth time on September 28th, 2012. She was taken by police officers to the Jiangsu Provincial Brainwashing Centre in Xinghua City. During the 13 years of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution, Ms. Gu Modi has been detained three times, twice been subjected to forced labour, and sentenced and locked up at brainwashing centres four times. All of this was because of her persistence in believing in Falun Gong, and using the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a person with high morals. -
Middle School Teacher Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison, Prosecution's “Evidence” Obtained with Threats and Deception
2012-10-19Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bian Lichao was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Lunan district court in Tangshan, for making Shen Yun [a world-class traditional Chinese cultural show] DVDs and posters. Mr. Bian stated publicly in court that police tortured him during an interrogation so as to extract a confession. They also threatened to arrest his wife and daughter. -
Mr. Zhang Tianqi and His Wife Detained Following the Raids Surrounding the “700-Signature Petition Incident” in Hebei Province
2012-10-19Mr. Zhang Tianqi and his wife, Ms. Gao Suzhen, were arrested after raids were carried out by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents starting on August 1st, in an effort to identify who posted the details of a petition signed by 700 villagers calling for the release of their Falun Gong neighbour, on the Internet. The local Procuratorate has recently approved the couple's arrest along with that of another Falun Gong practitioner. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Lankui was arrested on June 7th, 2012. After the incident was widely covered in the media, the villagers were harassed, threatened, arrested, and detained by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents. -
Shandong Practitioner Ms. Liu Jing Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
2012-10-16Police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Jing on October 18th, 2011. She was held in Jining Detention Centre. On April 10th, 2012, Jinxiang Town Court had a hearing on her case, but her family was not allowed to attend or hire a lawyer. In the end the court announced that it would have a re-trial due to lack of evidence. On August 23rd, the court secretly sentenced Ms. Liu to eight years. Her family thought she was still in Jining Detention Centre until they received a call from Jinan Women's Forced Labour Camp in September. -
Mr. Zhang Su Poisoned and Beaten in Brainwashing Centre, Police Threaten to Harvest His Organs
2012-10-12On May 5th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Su was taken by police to Hubei Province “Legal and Educational Centre,” which is actually a brainwashing centre. He has been detained and tortured for 173 days. He was beaten and deprived of sleep. Unidentified drugs were put into his food in order to force him to give up practising Falun Gong. Police officer Jiang Lili threatened him, saying, "The Communist Party will kill you like killing an ant. Tomorrow they can execute you and say that you committed suicide. They can send you to the hospital to take your organs out. Several people can be saved using your organs." -
The “Transformation Group” and Brainwashing Centre at Hunan Women's Prison
2012-10-12When a practitioner is sent to the brainwashing centre, the perpetrators begin by asking the practitioner whether she is willing to participate in the so-called "education" (brainwashing). If she refuses, they will put handcuffs on her until she agrees to "learn." The "education" involves watching videos that slander Falun Gong. They play these films continuously. If that is not enough to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong, more abuse, such as forcing practitioners to stand for twelve to twenty-three consecutive hours, occurs. Practitioners are sometimes allowed to sleep for only one or two hours a day. Abuse such as sleep deprivation is not entered into the duty records. There are other forms of abuse and humiliation, such as not allowing practitioners to use the toilet. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Zhao Xianghai from Xiangtan City Wrongly Detained in a Psychiatric Hospital, His Mother Calls for Help
2012-10-09Mr. Zhao Xianghai was a crane driver. However, because he practises Falun Gong, he was held and tormented in a psychiatric hospital by the Xiangtan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and officials from his workplace for five years. When he was picked up he was very healthy, but now he has become extremely feeble. When his elderly mother went to the hospital to visit him, she was attacked by the hospital staff, who also searched her. Mr. Zhao's mother, her plea below, is seeking help from the international community. -
Ms. Chen Shufen from Gansu Province Once Again Detained after Twice Being Subjected to Forced Labour
2012-10-09On July 7th, 2012, the police picked Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Shufen up at work and put her in Longxi Detention Centre that night. Mrs. Chen had previously been sent to forced labour camps twice for practising Falun Gong. She was tortured and forced to do slave labour. She recounts her experience at the Second Women's Labour Camp in Gansu Province in 2000: "I was forced to pack disposable chopsticks. The solution had a strong odour and was so toxic that it could turn all of one's hair yellow. I couldn't keep my eyes open and sometimes could not breathe. In these hazardous working conditions, people passed out. The team leaders sealed my mouth with tape and beat me with police batons. Then they handcuffed me and hung me on a bunk bed for seven days and nights. I was tortured by being hung up three times." -
Four Falun Gong Practitioners from Li County, Hebei Province Sent to Labour Camp
2012-10-09O n April 23rd, 2012, police arrested four Falun Gong practitioners in several locations. Without any legal process, Wu Ruixiang and Li Ergang were immediately sent to Handan Forced Labour Camp, Xie Aman and Xie Hongcai to Hebei Women's Forced Labour Camp; and Xie Hongcai was sent home because she was showing symptoms of illness. Police ransacked Xie Aman's home and confiscated a large quantity of Falun Gong materials. Xie Aman became healthy and good-tempered after she began practising Falun Gong. -
Ms. Luo Xuemei, 63, from Xiangtan County Arrested for Distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs
2012-10-09When Ms. Luo Xuemei, a Falun Gong practitioner, was on her way to visit a coworker on the morning of August 23rd, she was stopped and searched by policeman Liu Xiaohua. Liu did not have a search warrant and found Shen Yun [a world-class traditional Chinese cultural show] DVDs in her bag. She was then taken to the Shuyuanlu Police Station, and was released the next day. While Ms. Luo was detained, a dozen officers from the Xiangtan City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), broke into her house. They had to force open three steel doors to get into her house and then ransacked it without a search warrant. An agent from the 610 Office threatened to take Ms. Luo to a psychiatric hospital and torture her. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Xu Daoming Sentenced to Prison by Shantou City Court, Guangdong Province
2012-10-09On January 12th, 2012, a Shantou City Court judge charged innocent Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Daoming with “Sabotaging law implementation through using a cult”, and sentenced him to one year and three months in prison. This false charge was fabricated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in order to deceive citizens who don’t know the truth about Falun Gong. Mr. Xu is kind to others and never fought or competed for personal gain. -
Unscrupulous Judge: Tears Up Practitioner's Petition for Appeal, Slaps the Defence Attorney in the Face
2012-10-05Lawyer Mr. Wang Quanzhang pleaded not guilty for Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Miao Fu in June this year. In view of Miao Fu having been tortured to extort a confession, he asked the court to invoke the "illegal evidence exclusion procedure.” Unexpectedly, this triggered roars from Judge Wang Chuanfa from the Dongning County Court. On August 31st, 2012, when Wang Quanzhang went to the detention centre to handle Mr. Miao Fu’s appeal matters, he met Wang Chuanfa. This time Wang Chuanfa even rushed forward and slapped Wang Quanzhang in the face. -
Ms. Liu Jingmei from Yishui County, Shandong Province Arrested Again after Years of Persecution
2012-09-28On August 24th, 2012 Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Jingmei was arrested by a group of police officers. They took away Ms. Liu's computers, TV set-top boxes and many of her personal belongings. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Liu has been arrested by local officials and police officers several times because she persisted in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The first time she was arrested, the authorities tried to force her to give up her belief. Officials made her stand in the sun with her nose touching a wall, and both her arms held straight out. They put bricks on her hands and deprived her of sleep for three days and nights. In addition, they extorted 3,000 yuan from her. -
Mr. Chang Shi's Entire Family Arrested in Jilin City; Wife's Life in Danger
2012-09-28Mr. Chang Shi, his wife and their 19-year-old daughter were arrested on August 9th, 2012, by police. The police ransacked their home, confiscated their valuables, including cash, and left their home unlocked. Mr. Chang was then sent to the Jilin City Detention Centre, while his daughter, Ms. Chang Huiying, was incarcerated in the Shahezi Brainwashing Centre. His wife, Ms. Zhang Jingdong, was severely persecuted in police custody, requiring emergency rescue. She was then sent to Changchun Forced Labour Camp despite being in critical condition.
