  • Personal Account of Persecution by the Late Mr. Liu Quanguo from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Quanguo was arrested without a warrant, detained, sentenced to forced labour, tortured, and injected with unknown drugs. The head guard publicly said to him: "You'll die after you are released." And after Liu Quanguo was released, he did pass away on February 16th, 2008 at the age of 45. Before his death he recounted: "In Shuangcheng Detention Centre, the guard interrogated me again and again, trying to find out who organised our Falun Gong group. I was forced to stand for 24 hrs, and made to pick up a toilet bucket weighing 50 kilograms. The guard ordered prisoners to beat and kick me, I had black eyes and a bleeding nose and mouth."
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Du Juying Unjustly Admitted to a Mental Hospital Again

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Juying has been persecuted repeatedly because of her beliefs. Even two of her sons participated in her persecution under pressure from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). CCP officials threatened her sons with the loss of their jobs and instigated them to mistreat their mother. Ms. Du's son Qu Zhipeng forced her to be admitted into the Yichang City Dongshan Mental Hospital again in June 2010.
  • Mr. Niu Ruiyi and Ms. Mao Xiulan from Tianshui City, Gansu Province Secretly Sentenced

    In January two Falun Gong practitioners were arrested and taken from their home by the police. The police confiscated their computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and many other personal belongings. Both Mr. Niu and Ms. Mao were detained in the Gangu County Detention Centre since their arrest. In May, Mr. Niu and Ms. Mao were put through a show trial and sentenced by the Tianshui City Gangu County Court in Gansu Province. Throughout the whole trial up until the final verdict, there was not a principal prosecutor present nor was their case open to the public. The defendants' family members were never notified of their trial. Their families never received any kind of legal documents or any other kind of notice explaining what happened to them.
  • Police in Jilin Province Detain a Disabled Practitioner

    On July 11th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Liming, who is disabled, was reported to the police as she distributed Falun Gong DVDs in Yidan Town. Police arrested Ms. Du and detained her in the Yitong County Detention Centre. The whereabouts of her developmentally delayed child is unknown. Ms Du has been harassed, threatened, and arrested by the police frequently because of her spiritual belief and practice.
  • A Wife's Sorrow - Husband Guo Haixiang from Xingtai City, Hebei Province is Arrested

    On July 27th, 2010, seven policemen broke into practitioner Guo Haixiang's home in Huining Village, Xingtai County. They took Guo away after ransacking his house. Guo's wife was not able to eat, drink, or sleep for days after his sudden arrest. She has been crying and feeling the pain while thinking about their life together. Before practising Falun Gong Guo used to drink until he was intoxicated, then yell and hit his wife. Since practising Falun Gong he became a good person and lived harmoniously and happily with his wife. So what kind of crime has Guo Haixiang committed? Will he be "transformed" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] in jail, and if so, into what kind of person?
  • Please Help My Mother Song Dan

    Several days ago, my mother, Song Dan, was talking to some people about Falun Gong, hoping that more would benefit from the truth and her experience, but she was arrested by police from the Tangyuan County Police Station. They did not allow us to visit my mother. There are elderly people at home who need her. My whole family urgently hopes my mother will come home soon. I hope that kind people everywhere will help us to rescue my mother!
  • An Open Letter from Mr. Xu Dawei's Wife to Chinese Regime Agencies

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei was tortured at Dongling Prison in Shenyang City to the extent that he suffered internal organ failure, his body was covered in injuries, and he suffered mental collapse and memory loss. In February 2009, 13 days after his release from serving an eight-year term in the prison, Mr. Xu died at the age of 36. In March 2010, 376 villagers in the five villages in Ying'emen Town, Qingyuan County jointly signed an appeal letter on behalf of Mr. Xu. This incident has resulted in an investigation by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which has resorted to threats and harassment of the letter's signatories. Attorney Mr. Wang Jinglong, hired by Mr. Xu's family, has faced suppression from the Liaoning Province Justice Department.
  • Mr. Sun Tienong and Mr. Xu Sheng Sentenced by Acheng Court Officials in Harbin City

    Mr. Sun Tienong and Mr. Xu Sheng were sentenced to prison terms of five years and four years respectively, by officials from Acheng Court in Harbin City on July 7th, 2010. The trial was conducted in secret and the practitioners' families were not informed. Mr. Sun and Mr. Xu were arrested by police on January 24th, while they were out posting Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution in Sanyang Village. They were taken to the Acheng District No. 2 Detention Centre.
  • Mr. Wen Hongjun's Elderly Mother and Disabled Wife Thrown Out of Court for Demanding His Release from the Ji County Detention Centre

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wen Hongjun went into exile to avoid further persecution from local police. A Police arrested him on September 28th, 2009. Ji County Court officials subsequently tried him on February 5th and April 2nd. His lawyer defended his innocence at both trials, but the court adjourned both sessions without delivering a verdict. He is still incarcerated in the Ji County Detention Centre. Wen Hongjun's mother is in her 80s, and his disabled wife has epilepsy. His sudden arrest left the two women without any income. The two women travelled close to 100 miles to demand their loved one's release. The court bailiffs carried them out of the courthouse and threw them out on the pavement.
  • The Ordeal Suffered by Mr. Kao Fuquan and His Wife, Ms. Song Guihua

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Kao Fuquan was arrested on May 8th by 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). He is incarcerated at a brainwashing centre, where he has been subjected to abuse and torture. His wife, Ms. Song Guihua, was also arrested on August 6th. The centre's officials have forbidden Mr. Kao's family to visit him and have blocked information concerning his circumstances from the outside world. We have learned that the brainwashing centre guards severely abused Mr. Kao for five days.
  • Ms. Tang Min from Changsha City Once Again Sent to a Brainwashing Centre

    Ms. Tang Min was subjected to incarceration in a mental hospital and injected with toxic psychiatric drugs. Following each injection, she experienced symptoms of feeling cold, trembling, and becoming restless. The long-term psychiatric drug injections and isolation caused Ms. Tang, who was in her forties, to appear thin and old. Ms. Tang was arrested again and sent to a brainwashing centre by personnel from her workplace and 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) on July 16th.
  • Ms. Chang Shuxia, 52, Imprisoned Three Times at the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province

    Ms. Chang Shuxia, 52, has been imprisoned three times because she practises Falun Gong. She recounts her experience in a labour camp: "Guards pushed me to the ground and handcuffed my hands behind my back, with one hand pulled over my shoulder to meet the other hand twisted up from the back. A tall and sturdy man then stomped on the handcuffs with his leather shoes. They also shocked me with three electric batons simultaneously. The handcuffs cut deep into my flesh, and I was bleeding badly. My hands became very swollen. Even after I returned home the scars were still visible on my hands. I couldn't do any physical work for more than a year."
  • Model Worker Ms. He Guihong Persecuted by Domestic Security Division of Xianning City in Hubei Province

    On July 1st, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Guihong was arrested by Xianning City 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong] personnel and police officers from the Xianning City Domestic Security Division when she was working at the "1+8" retail chain store in the Xian'an District. On July 2nd, Jiayu County 610 Office personnel and Domestic Security Division personnel sent her to the Banqiao Village Brainwashing Centre of Wuhan City. She was proclaimed a "model worker" for the whole city and county many times.
  • Eyewitness: Shanxi Province Women's Prison a Processing Facility for Counterfeit Drugs

    In 2007, the Shanxi Province Women's Prison was rated as a "Civilised Prison," but based on what I saw there, I think it would be more appropriate to call it a "processing site for counterfeit drugs." I was detained in the prison's processing facility. The workshop facility processes almost everything, from food and clothing, to items used on a daily basis. Two rooms on the second floor were used to package many different kinds of fake drugs. The majority of the drugs processed were used to treat heart disease and high blood pressure.
  • Elderly Practitioner Ms. Jing Ziying from Xi'an City Arrested; Her Whereabouts Unknown

    Ms. Jing Ziying, 79, is from Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. On July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Jing went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. CCP agents refused to listen to her, but instead sentenced her to one year of forced labour. While in a forced labour camp Ms. Jing refused to be "reformed" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. The guards subjected her to sleep deprivation and tried to force her to read books slandering Falun Gong. The guards also forced her to do hard labour. Ms. Jing was arrested again on July 22nd, 2010 by police and her current whereabouts are unknown.
