Buersche Zeitung: A German newspaper reported on the parade of Falun Gong practitioners in Gelsenkirchen, one of the cities holding the finals of the World Cup. The title is “Falun Gong protests against China’s human rights conditions.” There is a big picture in the article, occupying a quarter of the page. In the picture, a young female Falun Gong practitioner in white, who was illegally imprisoned for four years, holds a photo of practitioners who were persecuted to death. She looks sad, solemn and dignified. The picture gives the entire page a solemn atmosphere.
This practitioner, majoring in finance and specialising in trade, was imprisoned in Shanghai for four years. She said, “The means of brainwashing in Shanghai labour camp is very sly. They don’t beat people. The guards are kind and friendly to Falun Gong practitioners on the surface. But every Falun Gong practitioner is arranged to stay alone in a squadron of prisoners. A dozen prisoners watch one practitioner day and night. They never punish Falun Gong practitioners but punish the watchers. If practitioners do not give up their belief, the labour camp does not let them do their chores of daily life, but let the watchers do it for them, the chores like the dirty work of cleaning out the lavatories. So the prisoners who don’t know the inside story hate Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners, who believe in “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance,” have to face the pressure of twisting right to wrong and white to black among the prisoners. If they insist in their belief, they bring “troubles” to people around them.
The report also said that since Falun Gong was persecuted in China, it has become known world wide, so more and more people practise Falun Gong. To attract more people’s attention to the persecution in China, about 100 people joined the parade.
Another newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitun, also reported the activity.
