On August 25th, 2007, Irish Falun Gong practitioners attended the 2007 Festival of World Cultures in Dun Laoghaire and celebrated the traditional Chinese culture of cultivation in various forms.

Many participants at the festival received examples of calligraphy from Falun Gong practitioners

On the sea shore, practitioners deployed banners reading “Falun Gong Is Good” and “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” and demonstrated the five sets of peaceful Falun Gong exercises. They also demonstrated their affinity with traditional Chinese culture by performing a graceful “Lotus Dance” and the “Fan Dance”.

The traditional Chinese dances were met with loud applause from the crowds. People focused their cameras and took several pictures. Practitioners also distributed hand-folded paper lotus flowers at the festival. While young children formed a waiting line trying to get a flower, many others learned enthusiastically how to fold the lotus flower themselves. A lot of visitors also obtained calligraphy art works from Falun Gong practitioners.

In the refreshing sea breeze, more and more visitors came to view the practitioners’ performance. Many hovered around for long periods of time.
