On December 10th, 2007, International Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners from Helsinki gathered outside the Chinese Embassy to protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide of Falun Gong during the past eight years. In late afternoon, they held a candle-light vigil to mourn for Falun Gong practitioners who have been murdered through the persecution.
It was already dark at about 4pm. During the candle light vigil the Falun Gong practitioners displayed images of those who died at the hands of the persecution, lit candles and put up a banner which read “Stop immediately the persecution of Falun Gong”. They conveyed to people their wishes that the CCP atrocities against Falun Gong could be brought to an end by joint effort of all the people.
Many people accepted flyers about the Falun Gong story from practitioners. Some youngsters asked why such terrible things were happening today. A man from Turkey said to a practitioner, “I know about the communist party. They always do bad things. You are doing very well.”
