Ms. Liu Mingwei, a Dafa practitioner in Jilin City, Jilin Province, learned Falun Dafa in 1996. At the end of 1999, after she came back from making an appeal in Beijing, she was expelled from her workplace, the Jilin City Water Company. Later on she was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labour camp. On November 22, 2000, Mingwei, who was just released after her sentence expired, was arrested again and illegally sentenced to 3 years in Changchun's Women's Prison. Upon arriving there, the police tried to force her to write a "renouncement statement" to give up her belief in Dafa. She firmly resisted and protested unyieldingly by holding a hunger strike for 9 months. On October 6, 2002, she regained her freedom and walked out of prison in an open and aboveboard manner. After she returned home, she was placed under a 24-hour surveillance by police. On October 22, 2002, she was arrested once again when she bought a ticket to Beijing for an appeal, and once again she was sent to Changchun's Women's Prison. The police intensified their persecution of her, inciting a criminal named Yin to swear at her and beat her every day. This criminal even put a mop cloth into her mouth and rubbed very hard, causing a lot of blood blisters. Cruel policemen also force-fed Mingwei salt and raw corn gruel through a thick tube every day. They left the tube inside her for a long time and handcuffed her limbs all the time so that she couldn't move an inch. This situation has lasted for over 3 months. Now Mingwei is extremely emaciated and weak, and her life is in grave danger.

We hope that the international human rights organisations will provide emergency help on seeing this news.

Address of the prison: Changchun's Women's Prison, Jilin Province , Zip code: 130022.
