Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp Falsifies Death Records of Tortured Falun Dafa Practitioners

I am a Falun Gong practitioner that once suffered terrible persecution in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp, Changchun, Jilin Province. Although it is painful to remember that evil place, I feel that it is my duty to report the horrors I witnessed.

I was brutally tortured many times, and witnessed the darkness there. Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death there are sent for immediate cremation without ever being seen by their family members. The perpetrators find a few criminals to be false witnesses by saying that the deaths were caused by heart disease or some other untruthful reason. They hand in the falsified death reports to higher authorities, who do nothing to check up on the reports and simply rush through death certificates based on the falsified records.

The Persecution Facts of Some Falun Gong Practitioners

Mr Qu Hongkui, is being illegally "re-educated" through labour (brainwashing), and is detained in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp, Changchun City. His life is in danger, and he is continuously persecuted in Changchun City Public Security Hospital. The details of his situation are unclear.

Mr Dong Ming, from Changchun City, is being illegally "re-educated" through labour (brainwashing), and is detained in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City. Because he declared that the "five statements" [to give up practising Falun Dafa] he wrote under high pressure persecution were void, policeman Chen Lihui was ordered to stop him from sleeping for 24 hours until he slandered Falun Dafa and Teacher. Dong Ming was forced to jump from the 2nd floor of a building and he broke his tibia in the lower leg. He lost the capability to take care of himself for a long period of time. The forced labour camp illegally extended Dong Ming's term for 6 months.

Feng Liping was due to be released from the forced labour camp around 2003, but he was taken directly to a brainwashing session.

Zhang Shushan (from Shuang Yang District) was released from the camp earlier this year, and then arrested and taken for brainwashing.

The police of Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp do not allow Falun Gong practitioners to speak to each other.

They are deprived of their freedom and cannot move around as criminals watch over them. Their outgoing mail is not allowed to mention anything about the persecution in the labour camp. If the persecution is mentioned, they beat the practitioners or simply do not allow the letter to be mailed. They do not allow practitioners to exchange goods, and often deprive them of sleep. The police brutally torture practitioners with electric batons, handcuffing behind the back, iron pipes, rattans, triangular-shaped belts, broad-axes (used by Yang Guang, 2nd team leader), physical punishment, pouring cold water over them and other inhuman methods. The small cell they use to detain Dafa practitioners is very damp, and it is so small that one cell can only fit one person.

Before September 2001, police did not release any Falun Dafa practitioner who did not denounce their practice, even if they had already been illegally detained for a few years.

After September 2001 they started to release some practitioners as a result of rising international outcries. They stopped releasing practitioners again in the summer of 2002 when United Nations personnel came to China to negotiate many issues on November 16th. They started to release people in December, but after February 2003, they again stopped releasing practitioners again. As long as practitioners do not write "five statements" to give up their practice, they will be sent for brainwashing after their terms are due.

The Jilin Province government actually flaunts Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp as "the most advanced unit". The law has lost its rationality here. I hope the international community can truly pay attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
