One day, a Falun Dafa practitioner encountered the head of a division of a police station who was in charge of persecuting local Dafa practitioners. The following was what they discussed.
Practitioner: You are a policeman. I know you are responsible for investigating cases. I have a question for you. Who videotaped the "Tiananmen Self-Immolation Incident?"
Policeman: We did, the Public Security Bureau, did. Otherwise, the program quality wouldn't have been that good.
Practitioner: We can tell from the high quality that the incident wasn't videotaped accidentally. The cameramen must have been well prepared. Did you know there would be an immolation incident happening in Tiananmen Square?
Policeman: We might have known that. Therefore, we got prepared to videotape it.
Practitioner: Then why didn't you stop the immolation? Why did you still let it happen?
Policeman: (With a smile of embarrassment.) We needed the shocking effect.
Practitioner: I can't believe this is the kind of police and government we have!
That policeman had nothing to say. When the practitioner said the "self-immolation incident" was staged, he didn't say anything, but nodded to acknowledge that it was true.
From "Burning up Military Vehicles" to "Burning People in Tiananmen Square."
In the summer of 2002, I met a friend and we talked about Falun Gong. I told him that Falun Gong teaches people to be good and has the power to cure illnesses. I also raised the issue of those suspicious scenes in the TV broadcast of the "Tiananmen Self-Immolation Incident." He agreed with all that I said. Then he shared something that he knew.
He has a friend who served in the military troop that protected Beijing during the "June 4th Incident" in 1989 [the date that pro-democracy students protested in Tiananmen Square]. Their troop tuned up and tagged a few military vehicles that were to be destroyed. Then they drove those vehicles to a location close to Tiananmen Square. The soldiers took off their uniforms and dressed themselves like college students. They poured gas over the vehicles and burned them. After that, the TV broadcasts claimed that the college students committed crimes by burning the military vehicles. The authorities did this to incite public hatred against college students and to create an excuse for their bloody crackdown against the students.
Jiang Zemin's political career got a boost as a result of his heavy-handed policies during the "June 4th Incident" in 1989. In 1999, he personally launched the persecution of Falun Gong. Again he fabricated lies to deceive people. The staged "Tiananmen Square Immolation Incident" is a typical example of his methods to lie to the public.
