[Note: The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.]

Dafa practitioner Chen Si is only 13 years old. She is a student in Junior Middle School and lives in the residential area of Dongfeng Chemistry Factory, Shuangbei, Shapingba District, Chongqing City. Both her parents are Dafa practitioners, and her mother was unjustly sent to a forced labour camp for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

During her summer vacation in 2001, Chen Si went to hand out materials with Ms. Xuan Xuan (pseudonym) in order to clarify the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were detained and beaten by the policemen. Chen Si was then sent to Gele Mountain Brainwashing Class in Shapingba District.

In the brainwashing class, the policemen from Section 1 of Shapingba District Police Department attempted to force both practitioners to reveal the source of the materials. Although they are young, they courageously resisted the persecution and remained firm in their belief in Falun Dafa and Teacher Li. They refused to tell the police their names and addresses, and protested by going on hunger strike. The police then sent them to Gele Mountain Mental Hospital and kept force-feeding them for as long as half a month.

Even so, the police failed to achieve their objective: to force the young girls to give up Falun Dafa. In the end, they published Chen Si's photo in the newspaper in order to identify her. They tricked her father into going to the brainwashing class, but did not allow him to see Chen Si. When the term began, the "610 Office" did not allow her to return to school because she did not give up her belief in Falun Dafa.
