Mr. Li Baichun, a 37-year-old resident of Songyuan City, Jilin Province, was sentenced to three years of forced labour without good reason at the Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp for appealing in Beijing on February 15, 2001. In that period of time, he steadfastly maintained his belief in Teacher and the Dafa and firmly resisted the persecution.

The police at the labor camp beat Mr. Li, struck him with electric batons, and tied him to the "dead person's bed" (1) for more than one month. He was terribly tortured by the police and had scabs covering his body. During the 31 months of relentless torture and abuse, Mr. Li Baichun never wavered in his belief in Dafa. He got out of the labour camp in June 2003.

Seeing his declining physical condition and not wanting Mr. Li to die inside the forced labour camp, the police pushed him out of the gates and left him with only 9 yuan. He got on a bus to his hometown of Songyuan City. Upon getting off the bus, he was in such bad shape that he was coughing up blood. Mr. Li took a taxi home to his 12-year-old daughter, who at first did not even recognize him. Li Baichun then asked his daughter for money to pay the taxi driver. As the young girl was paying, the taxi driver was in tears upon seeing his plight.

At 9 PM on September 22, 2003, Shuizi Police Chief Jiang Wencai led several policemen to break into Mr. Li Baichun's home. They arrested him and sent him back to the Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp. They also detained him in the so-called "Tight Instruction Class" in the Education Brigade for continuous brainwashing.

(1): The four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the toilet. This treatment would last from several hours up to more than a dozen days. This type of cruel torture causes severe damage to the practitioner both mentally and physically.
