Falun Gong has spread to over sixty countries all over the world, now it has landed in Huddersfield in the UK. Practitioners said that Falun Gong not only reduces stress, benefits health, but also creates inner peace, and is suitable for all ages. However, jealous of its popularity, Jiang Zemin initiated a persecution of Falun Gong, and no methods are too extreme. Many innocent people are suffering from the persecution.
It was reported in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner on 15th July: ‘Falun Gong is a straightforward oriental art of meditation and relaxation. But practising it in China has been incredibly risky.’
The report says, ‘The ancient practice of Falun Gong has landed in Huddersfield. The Falun Gong class is free of charge, and Huddersfield University student Tony Chen is on a one-man mission to teach the practice. He is going to start a class in September in the University, and non-students will be equally welcome.’
'Practitioners of Falun Gong say the combination of slow gentle movement and meditation can reduce stress, raise energy levels, and create inner calm.’
‘Tony and his fellow devotees put on a demonstration in Huddersfield's Market Place.’ The reports quote Tony as saying, “There are already Falun Gong classes available in Leeds. But this is a first for Huddersfield. My classes will be free of charge as Falun Gong is a voluntary practice. Falun Gong can benefit everyone and anybody can come to the classes.”
The practitioners said that Falun Gong can also benefit health. Practitioner Ze Xia claimed, ” I suffered from bad sinus trouble and was prone to colds until I took up the practice in 1996. Since then my problems have cleared up and I feel a lot healthier".’
The reporter said in the article, ‘It seems to suit people of all ages. Robert Gibson, 72, said he felt like a 20-year-old as a result of the discipline.’
Falun Gong has a history of being suppressed. Says the report, ‘Millions of people took up the exercises leaving Chinese communist leader Jiang Zemin angry and feeling threatened by its influence. Falun Gong was banned and campaigners claim hundreds have been tortured, raped, brainwashed and injected with harmful drugs. Many were forced out of jobs, schools and homes. Chinese police officers were instructed to eradicate Falun Gong and no methods, it seems, were too extreme.’
