On Saturday the 7th of August, a group of practitioners from the Irish Midlands travelled to Newbridge in County Kildare to introduce Falun Gong and let people know the facts about the persecution.
It was a nice sunny day with lots of shoppers around. After erecting a large banner reading "Truth, Benevolence, Forbearance", some practitioners distributed leaflets while others demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and sent righteous thoughts.
A series of posters depicting the torture imposed on Falun Gong practitioners in China became a focus for many passersby. They asked many questions and were visibly shocked by the horrifying scenes and found it hard to understand why such awful events are taking place in China today. After seeing the beauty of the Falun Gong exercises, many of the onlookers were moved and asked why such a peaceful thing could ever be prohibited anywhere in the world.
A woman was seen running towards the group and told a practitioner that she had encountered Falun Gong in the past in Dublin. When passing through Newbridge she spotted the banner and was compelled to stop her car and come to meet the practitioners. She was so happy to have found Falun Gong again and eagerly set about making up for lost time by arranging to go to the home of one of the practitioners the following evening to learn the exercises and start the practice.
Throughout the day the whole group coordinated in a peaceful and harmonised manner. They talked to many people, answering their questions and discussing the persecution, as well as informing the public about the global lawsuits against the perpetrators of the five-year campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners in China.
