Every autumn, many big cities in Sweden hold a set of activities known as ‘Night of Culture’. On the evening of October the 15th, Gothenburg launched its fourteenth ‘Night of Culture’ celebration. Over a hundred social organisations, including culture and art groups along with human rights organisations, helped with preparations for this year’s activity. They also presented rich and colourful performances such as drama, singing, dancing, film and workshops for the local people. Swedish Friends of Falun Gong were one of the performing groups.
In the hustle and bustle of the city centre, Falun Gong practitioners gave a beautiful performance of “The Wonderful Heart’ in Gotaplatsen Plaza. They used singing, dancing, photographs and a demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises to show people the beauty and peacefulness of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China, as well as traditional Chinese culture.

Although the museums, cinemas and the City Hall in Gothenburg were all opened free of charge to the public, many people still found practitioners’ performances very attractive. Some of them stopped to watch while others came for a chat to find out more. The Gotaplatsen Plaza situated in the city centre was full of compassion and peace.

Many people not only enjoyed the beautiful performances and the Chinese music, but also got the chance to learn the truth about Falun Dafa. A local TV station reported on the exercise demonstration in its evening news programme.
