Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Song Zhiwei from Changchun City, Jilin Province took a train to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. She was arrested by police and died while in police custody under unclear circumstances. All that is known is that she either fell from, jumped from, or was thrown from a train.

Ms. Song Zhiwen is an employee of No.5514 Factory in Changchun City. She was detained one month prior for refusing to sign her name on a "Guarantee Statement" (1) to stop practising Falun Dafa. She was later dismissed from her job. She has a very sick elderly mother at home, and they led a very difficult life.

On December 26, 2000, she went to Beijing with me to let the public know that Falun Dafa is good. She was reading Falun Dafa books on the train. The police saw her possessing these prohibited materials, they grabbed her, and pushed her down on the floor several times. I questioned why the police started to arrest people. We were both taken to the food canteen where over 10 fellow Falun Dafa practitioners and good people who didn't practise were being held for refusing to curse Teacher Li. Ms. Song asked one female police a question, she immediately kicked her down under the tables. She said, "Wait till we get down at the train station, I'll torture you to death. Don't move now." Later, the police started their poker game. Song Zhiwen saw the bathroom window unlocked, and told me to escape with her. I jumped, and bumped my head. Song Zhiwen never got up from her jump. The police called her family, and casually ended her case.

(1) "Guarantee Statement"A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practising Falun Gong and guarantees not to practise Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.
