Thordis Hauksdottir (Þórdís Hauksdóttir), the spokesperson for Falun Gong in Iceland, has contacted the police and intends to press charges after repeated calls to her phone repeating taped propaganda against Falun Gong. Thordis says this propaganda, in English and Chinese, aims to spread hate against the peaceful practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime for the last five years.

According to Thordis, many Falun Gong practitioners all over the world have been victims of this campaign. She says there is already a police investigation on the matter in the US, but the trail is carefully hidden and so far calls have not been traced.

“These phone calls are unacceptable and spoil the sanctity of one’s private life. Iceland is a free democratic country and to me it is not acceptable to be prone to such attacks from a foreign oppressing power,” said Thordis, who intends to request a police investigation.

Omar Smari Armannsson, Vice Chief Constable in Reykjavik, says those who receive repeated harassment through their phone should contact their phone company, have the offensive calls filed and then press charges at the police station.
