The Folly of the Chinese Communist Party as Seen from its Persecution of Falun Gong

The biggest mistake human beings can possibly make is to miss out on opportunities granted by nature. Likewise, the biggest mistake the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ever made was to persecute Falun Gong.

As the old saying goes, if you win the heart of people, you secure power. Falun Gong teaches people to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to strive to be better, healthy people. It had such a positive effect on the various aspects of Chinese society that it created a golden opportunity for those in power to win the hearts of their people and to establish their reputation if they chose to support it. Ignoring the benefits it has brought to the society, the has CCP single mindedly decided to persecute Falun Gong. As a result, it has wasted their opportunity, and created an impossible situation for them. Because they persecute good people, the CCP has been deemed by all gods as unforgivable and destined to collapse. Its members will also be implicated as a result. Its folly is beyond imagination.

The following recaps the positive effects Falun Gong has had on Chinese society.

Health benefits

In August, 1993, China's Upholding Justice and Saving People in Danger Foundation, an affiliation of the Ministry of Public Security, wrote a letter of appreciation to the China Qigong Scientific Research Association to thank Mr. Li Hongzhi for his providing free and effective treatment to close to one hundred awarded individuals.

On December 27th, 1993, Mr. Li Hongzhi was awarded an Honor Certificate by that same organisation.

In 1993, at the Oriental Health Expo held in Beijing, the miraculous healing effect of Falun Gong caught people's attention. Mr. Li Hongzhi became the qigong master who received the highest number of awards at the expo, i.e. "Frontier Science Award," "Special Gold Award," and "Most Popular Qigong Master." In December 1994, the book containing the core Falun Gong teachings, Zhuan Falun by Mr. Li Hongzhi was published and became the most popular book in Beijing in January 1996.

In 1998, medical authorities in China conducted five surveys on the health benefits of Falun Gong in Beijing, Wuhan, Dalian and Guangdong. About 35,000 surveys were received and they found that 98% of those who responded indicated either improvement, recovery, or cure. On average, each practitioner saved the government about 2600 yuan in medical expenses. It's estimated that Falun Gong can save the government tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses annually.

In China, many people do not have health coverage and there is not an effective medical system in place. Health care costs and associated social issues are a huge headache for the government. The positive effect of Falun Gong is obvious.

Improved Moral Values

Falun Gong focuses on one's character. It teaches people to improve their moral values. However, it is not just preaching. Practitioners practise the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives. Any changes the practitioners have are from their bottoms of their hearts. The changes are fundamental, based on their understandings of the purpose of life. It is the best medicine for a society that's ridden with corrupt government officials, degenerate moral values, and high crime rates.

Touching stories abound among Falun Gong practitioners.

In 1997, Dalian Daily reported on a practitioner in his seventies who spent about one year building 4 roads for the villagers, with a total length of 1100 meters. One practitioner who worked in a hotel found a purse with five million yuan in it, and turned it in to be returned to the owner. In addition, he declined the reward money of 1000 yuan by the owner. He was later awarded a banner from the authorities, which said, "Outstanding Conduct by a Falun Dafa Practitioner."

There are more amazing stories about drunkards being turned around and becoming good men. A man in a small village in Hebei Province used to abuse alcohol, gamble, and beat his wife. Since he began practising Falun Gong, he changed altogether. His wife was heard saying, "I would rather go to jail with him for practising Falun Gong than let him give up Falun Gong."

Social Stability Enhanced

Falun Gong teaches people to be good. Practitioners take self-interest lightly and become responsible workers. Even though some of them were laid off, they did not fight to keep their jobs. Possible confrontations were diffused.

Since 1996, mouthpieces of the CCP such as the Guangming Daily published stories that distorted the truth about Falun Gong. In July 1996, a Chinese news-publishing department prohibited any positive reporting of Falun Gong. In July 1998, the Ministry of Public Security had a policy of "conviction before investigation." Faced with the unfair treatment of the Chinese authorities, Falun Gong practitioners continue to try to resolve the issues with peaceful means.

On April 25th, 1999, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners went to the Beijing National Appeal Office to protest the rounding up of Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin City. Their peaceful appeal was unprecedented. It set an example for civil disobedience without resorting to violence.

Even without the persecution, the Chinese society would have become more peaceful because of Falun Gong. Civil disobedience with reason, peace and non-violence is something Chinese citizens can follow.

Improved Image of the CCP Regime

On April 25th, 1999, the Premier, Zhu Rongji met with a representative of Falun Gong and resolved the issues to the satisfaction of the practitioners. The reason why Zhu can meet with the practitioners on the same day and make a decision to release those that had been rounded up has to do with the way the Falun Gong practitioners handled the conflict. The peaceful manner of the practitioners led to the wise decision of Zhu and won a positive image for the government. If other authorities had followed suit, the image of the Chinese government in the international community would have been changed for the better.

The Chinese authorities had the opportunity to enhance their reputation. However, Jiang's regime went ahead in using violent means to launch a brutal persecution of Falun Gong.

When Jiang declared, "Falun Gong has to be eradicated in three months", the CCP mobilised it's national resources. Not only did it fail in its attempts to crush Falun Gong, it also found itself in limbo.

The evil and folly of the CCP has led to it's own collapse. It has no one to blame but itself.

Now that the CCP has become the target of gods, quitting the party is the wisest decision one can make for one's own future.
